Nje (isiZulu) - suffix [nʤe] Merely; only; just 
Nje are a four piece afro, funk, rock outfit born out of the sweaty Durban heat back in 2012.  They’ve been applying their trade at various venues and festivals whilst at the same time writing new music and recording their debut self-titled EP which was released at the end of 2014.  Nje’s members have been in various parts of the music scene for years and consist of; bassist Rogan van den Berg; drummer Gary Parker; guitarist Gregan Aherin and vocalist Portia Malunga Rowling. Nje’s jams have been heard at Splashy Fen, Smoking Dragon, Live The Venue, The Barnyard Theatre Gateway, The Winston and The Wavehouse to name a few, while they have also been heard on East Coast Radio and MRP Radio, where their single Gazi Lami featured on the SA Top 20 Countdown.  Back in 2013, after performing on an online interview, they were specially requested by Ard Matthews to be the opening act of the Durban leg of his album launch.
