Composition #1

Currently my MFA thesis explores sonic awareness by interpreting my own audio recordings of sonic masses in motion, into large and small scale drawings to create a new way of investigating my drawing practice. I am interested in sound dynamics across different spatial and temporal scales using sense based investigation, field research recordings and studio based drawing methods while using soundscape ecology as a framework. My research examines the ways that my drawing practice translates soundscape ecology  within my relationship to my body in rural and urban landscapes.  My research examines the ways that my drawing practice translates soundscapes and my body within it. My process involves using my sonological competence to record improvised scores in collaboration with my environment, which then are translated into abstract drawings.
