Following the loss of his brother in September 2020, Juxtapo (Lee Black) spent one year working on "Mind Plague" that takes you on a journey where ghosts in the shadows align gracefully and enters an ambience of string melodies, soft rumbles, graceful vocals and spoken words. 

The result is an alternative ambient sound layered with emotion. A timeline of anger, grief, discovery and acceptance.

Mind Plague

It’s Saturday night and it's late. You don’t want to go home and would rather be knee deep in the depths of exchanged sweat from the heat bouncing off the club walls. Everyone’s eyes are closed, but smiling. Insistent beats and driving baselines drive the rhythmic flow of grooving bodies. Once out there, the spectral, uplifting music drives on, that which belongs to the far out churches among the cosmos. Touches of brooding feedback saturate the soundscape, with flurries of melodic vocals. 

Mappings has deep rooted inspirations from the likes of Underworld, Leftfield and Orbital with Juxtapo’s ghostly touch of polyphonic juxtapositions of sound.

It can feel suffocating but somehow you like being enveloped by the layers of mellow vibrations. You could go for a walk in the woods, but your imagination can take you there with the help of drones, ghosts in the cupboards and long swaying melodies. You say your goodbyes and leave. It's dark, and you’re already in the woods laying on the grass looking up at the trees.
