Escape Train & Other Stories is a musical anthology of the forbidden history of the 20th century. If Brothers was a rock opera about the present, Escape Train is a ghost story about the past—specifically the timelines that were erased to build the modern world.
Lyrically dense and historically obsessed, the album operates as a piece of "investigative songwriting." It re-examines the official narratives of the Orphan Trains, the post-WWII "Ratlines" to Patagonia, and the dark occultism of Laurel Canyon. It weaves a cohesive theory that our current reality is a "Stage" constructed by "Master Builders" to hide a previous, more advanced civilization.
From the gender-bending paranoia of "Is She Not" to the tragic isolation of "U will Always Be Alone," the album serves as a field guide for the "Targeted Individual." Indie duo Beau Phillips & Josh Mack, hailing from the little town of Vacaville,  have juxtaposed their EDM, hiphop, disco and psychedelic stylings into 20 studio albums and 3 EP's that are rich in experimentalism, dancefloor abandon and wistful grooves. Josh Mack has been a Hip hop producer since his early teen years when he was making beats for several notable local Bay area hip hop artists for years before the age of 21. Beau Phillips was a high school orchestra teacher and lead singer-songwriter and producer for longtime Vacaville indie rock band The Strangelights. The artists became friends in 2017 and their musical partnership fashioned a style that is uniquely JUXXTAPOSED. Thanks for checking out their music!
