Whats good peeps, finally I have managed to compile the next offering for your listening pleasure. Latitude embarks on a ambient melodic journey in the comfort of your surroundings then gradually building up which should have you nodding your head vigorously with the rest of your body following suit. 

Ive been finding a lot of good music on various formats lately and I am pleased with the standards out there within the realms of underground dance music scene. 

Ive managed to check out some quality gigs of late and even seen Mr G live in Sweden @ Berns who put on an outstanding performance, the Fred P gig in Birmingham was dope also. You can hear music from both cats within this audio thread :)

A snippet of a 4 hour session recorded at Bruk Up in Birmingham. I have played at Bruk Up many times and this last session was one of my Favourites. I had the opportunity to play some Jazz at the beginning of the night that featured many styles from Afro, Latin, Brazilian, fusion and the faster tempo energetic tempos you would see the likes of the shiftless shuffle crew get down to. Following the Jazz session I closed the set with 2 hours of Broken Beats joining and connecting the dots throwing some curveballs in the mix. 

Big shouts to Bruk Up Birmingham who have been running for 10 years solid and having one of the most engaging dance floors I’ve played to in my DJ career.

I was asked to put this mix together from my DJ set at the Day Moves event that took place in Birmingham @ Spotlight this summer, these parties usually take place in London and sometimes various cities around Europe under the 'Night Moves' moniker. They put on some really cool interesting parties which has gained quite the reputation so it was good to be invited to play at their day party in the 2nd city...
Anyway the mix mainly comprises some of my fav rare groove joints and some recent bits I've discovered this year.

Collective Minds is a collaboration between friends with a passion for underground house and techno. The concept behind the event is to showcase some of the UK’s best underground house/techno DJs alongside some of the industries most respected names.

Following on from our re-re-launch nigth with XDB, Adam Shelton and Jayson Wynters....

We are back for our 4th installment…. Its been nearly 3 years since we were last doing regular parties so it's nice to get things moving again.

Spotlight has undergone some TLC and we have installed a new and improved Martin Audio system…. Its sounding mint..
For our next event we welcome Tom Ellis to CM for his live set and he will be joined by Alex Downey and 2 birmingham DJs. Adam Shelton and Jayson Wynters.

Tom Ellis - (freerotation/Modo Di)
Tom Ellis has been caressing our ears with jazz-infused house cuts and off-kilter techy wobblers for the last decade or so with his hardware heavy sound bubbling away beneath the mainstream. An out an out producer at heart, Tom has been longstanding resident with the Freerotation family and over the last few years has been producing some great music for labels, such as Telegraph, Steevio & Suzybee’s Mindtours and more recently his own imprint Modo Di. We are looking forward to hearing his live set in spotlight on that Martin Audio system....

Alex Downey - (Third Ear)
The media keeps on telling us that dance music has returned to the underground, dived back to its acid house roots for a real party, but they never tell us who or where. Alex Downey, DJ, club-promoter, record shop-founder, website host and electronic visionary, is a good place to start.
"Its not about being underground for the sake of it", explains Alex, "The more, the merrier, and all that, but it is about sorting the wheat from the chaff". Club-land has become bloated in the UK but we've ridden through the tough times and those left standing tend to be the ones that actually care about the music.
Alexs manifesto, he half jokes, is "Everyone loves techno they just don't realise it yet". His enthusiasm for the music is infectious and fired up with youthful charm. He's played alongside everyone from Richie Hawtin to Josh Wink, Carl Cox to Laurent Garnier, and his experiences have made him realise that while he's a techno-boy at heart, its the spirit of entertaining the crowd that moves him.
He's played everywhere from sprawling festivals to art-house events at the ICA; he's been known to drop the deepest of techno and yet has worked as an A&R source for smart house imprint Loaded; his recent expeditions in Japan have culminated in large crowds refusing to go home but he can be found playing on week nights to crowds of less than 200 in dingy seafront venues; he's as happy playing Ben Sims' word-of-mouth 'Split' bashes in London as he is warming up for Dave Clarke at the Boutique in Brighton. Bottom line: Alex Downey is in the business putting the funk n' sparkle back into machine music.

Hessle Audio feat. Ben UFO & Jayson Wynters -  6th August 2018

Operating in the North with a great big smile, Jayson Wynters is an MC turned disc jockey turned producer done good. We had the pleasure of watching him play records at Houghton last year and were humbled by his selective presentation of music. His far reaching tastes are best showcased across several hours as he dives and digs between moving parts featuring a stylish array of genres, tempos and blends. 

His own music has been released prominently on Semtek's record label Don't Be Afraid but he has also made appearances as a producer on the likes of Mr G's Phoenix G imprint and on Ornate Music. 

Based in Birmingham he also has a hand in the running of Cafe Artum, a record shop come cafe he has helped pioneer alongside Adam Shelton. 

This May he will feature on our stage as part of the infamous Virgo Festival, an annual outing which has become a staple feature of our summer calendar. One to watch.

Jayson Wynters: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

As we go about our daily endeavours in the thick of the busyness and hectic lifestyles most of us lead I hope the music presented here will provide some space for thinking and solitude so we can take a moment to pause and reflect. If you can maybe try listening to this presentation with minimal interference (or if possible none), burn some incense sit back with a favourite drink and unwind. Or just do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

This mix was inspired by countless conversations with myself & friends concerning the issue and effects of Solitude Deprivation in todays society.

Jayson Wynters is “a tough artist to pin down” (FACT) and he likes it that way. Since debuting on mentor Mr G’s Phoenix G label with Unfamiliar Territories – a thumping series of late-night, analogue workouts – the producer and DJ has ventured in many directions.
 
One minute he’s on a deep excursion at Berghain or Free Rotation Festival and the next … he’s in a gallery presenting a talk about storytelling in reggae music. Or curating culture at multi-concept space Artum, which he co-founded in Birmingham. 
 
His releases for labels such as Delsin and Don’t Be Afraid oscillate between house and techno, pressing the outer limits of electronic music. But he’ll never stop drawing on other influences such as sound system, soul, jazz, hip-hop and martial arts.
 
Wynters’ sets can be forceful and intense but also meditative, putting dancers in an ecstatic flow state. And always with a meticulous approach to craft, just like his productions.
