El compositor Alfred Schnittke hizo la música de más de 60 películas rusas entre los años 60 y 80. Unas bandas sonoras, y unas películas, muy poco conocidas pero que le sirvieron para desarrollar un estilo inconfundible y único en la música contemporánea del siglo XX. Un posmoderno antes del posmodernismo. Su música mezcla pop, folk, electrónica, drone, contemporánea y efectos sonoros en un vertiginoso y bajtiano cóctel que él mismo denominó como poliestilístico. Aunque las copias que tenemos no son de gran calidad merece la pena adentrarse en la obra de uno de los compositores más originales de la música del cine.
