Sicker Than Your Average (Mixtape)

As a well established artist with a career spanning over 20+ years in the music industry, we have the honour of presenting the highly anticipated debut release from PassONE.

Here he brings to our table his Petrichor EP featuring two originals, accompanied by two remixes by Jydn and Kalkara

From what has been an illustrious journey for this artist, from the early days of playing DJ sets at house parties to establishing his very own record label Kalliope Recordings, PassONE has made a name for himself with an abundance of quality records released on labels across the world.

An emerald is considered a rare and valued gem, the title track breathes this same sentiment, a gem in its layered and blissful textures. Throughout the entire piece you feel uplifted as the arrangement ebbs and flows between a spectrum of organic and euphoric elements.
Quartz delivers a far more raw, thick and broken vibe. The deep low end synthesis combined with the broken beats in the percussion and futuristic soundscapes, you're immediately taken to a final destiny emotion, a climax if you will that brings a level of finality to an EPIC release.

As part of this package it was only right our head honcho JYDN jump on board to deliver his very own stripped-back breaks flavour to Emerald.
Rounding things out is an upfront and slamming techno rework from our very own Kalkara, true to his fashion it blasts from start to finish taking on those elements and making them his own.
We felt it was very fitting to round out what has been a stellar 2021 with this incredible release. A huge thanks to all those who have supported the label this year. We hope you enjoy and look forward to what 2022 brings!

During my last tour in 2019 of Europe I was invited to play live on East Side Radio: a rogue, underground local community radio station set up inside some shipping containers in the middle of a Portuguese ex-military complex, soon to be redeveloped into Lisbon's largest creative hub.

I have just stumbled across the recording from my set that day and thought that it would be great to upload and share. The mix starts at a humble 116bpm and glides through to the early 120's.

Looking forward to getting back over that side of the globe and reuniting with all of my friends. It's been way too long! <3

JYDN Live From Revolver Upstairs — 10.04.22

Let us take you to a distant land, buried amongst layers of euphoric soundscapes. French Producer Möhne delivers a cryptic and scintillating new EP titled 'Explain to Me' - also featuring remixes by JPA, Connor Mac and Jydn.

The nature of both pieces within this EP give off an instant progressive feel, however, as you make your way through each composition it takes your mind to a different dimension as each element slowly blends together to create a new feeling of euphoria spread across the entire release. The vocal cuts embody strength and presence, the blend of harmonics twist and turn in such a pleasant way, you feel drawn into each piece the further you delve, leaving you wanting more.

This project is an important transition for Möhne. The transition into a much more worked and explicit style of music, in other words the end of one story but the beginning of another. for this occasion he has filled this project with emotion, childhood memories and innocence.

Including alongside the two originals we have a breathe of talent from our local shores, welcoming a staple in Australian dance culture JPA, a RC favourite Connor Mac and rounding things out one of our head honchos JYDN with his signature breaks flavour.

Bom dia, buenos noches & happy Thursday to all my homies far and wide! 🌙 A few weeks ago I was invited into the KISS FM studio for an interview and guest mix with my brother Dj Fosters on his Saturday lunchtime The Weekend Chug radio show.

Live Fountain Gate Sunday Sesh 11/05

Many moons ago we released Eleonora's abstract electronica piece 'Not Here' as part of our Elegance compilation, a stand-out favourite record for us due to the unique character and energy.

Fast forward two years and we have brought her composition back to light and assembled an all-star cast of talented individuals, each with their own unique spin. The release also features a bonus track titled 'Pictures' as a second original contribution from Eleonora that complements the package perfectly.

Eleonora is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to essence, flavour and originality. Her vocals have graced tracks from all corners, many of which you have probably heard or moved many a times to. Her original productions, on another level. A clear seamless blend of love for both live performance and electronic music, defying any genres and boundaries.

Man Power introduces the remix package with his fun, abstract and wonky interpretation. Boy Oh Boy follows with a deep and melodic remix rich in warm intertwined synth work. Bongani brings his driving minimal techno flavour to the plate with a stunning breakdown before JYDN drives it home with his punchy, progressive breaks remix.

High Rise, Blue Diamond // Teaser Mix

Glad to finally share with you my live recording from the day I arrived in Portugal, recorded live from the Sky Bar Rooftop in Lagos only 3 hours after I landed in the country. June 21, 2023.

It was our first Euro event we had run for the year, we packed out the rooftop with only one day promotion and the venue mentioned it was one of the best/busiest nights they've ever had. Super positive!

During my long haul flight over on the plane I spent many hours going through and sorting out 2500+ tracks, finding folders of old music and organising my rekordbox. It only felt natural for me to curate this set using only old tracks from my library, some releases dated back to 2013 and some tracks I was playing in clubs 10 years ago.

The Amaretto sours were fresh, the sun was warm and the vibes were high. Please enjoy this two-hour, poolside, deep and groovy introduction to my European summer.

Rabbits Eat Lettuce has played a pivotal role in my career over the last decade and my return after a 5 year hiatus was a very special set to play.

Huge thanks to Erik for the prime time booking on Thursday night when the stage was absolutely rammed. I really got to spread the wings playing a mixture of music that I feel was super self reflective - a mixture of deep, progressive, psychedelic and peak time techno/breaks.

The energy on the dance floor was incredible and thank you to all of those who were there to join the ride. This was definitely up there with one of my funnest sets to date! 🥂

The name itself carries a certain mystique and link with the gated vocal cuts – its phonetic flow feels like a mantra, echoing the meditative, trance-like energy that pulses throughout the track.

SURPRISE! 🔥 Do you like Drum & Bass? Well... Christmas came early... or late... whichever way you want to look at it 😏

This 1.5 hour set I played on Christmas Night at Bar Favela in the centre of a small surf coastal town called Itacaré in Brazil.

Something a little different from me. Was great to push outside the comfort zone which I thoroughly enjoy when it comes to mixing new sounds, styles and speeds I don't usually get given the chance to do.

The mix contains a stack of hip-hop & dub/reggae inspired DNB & breaks - some of my favourite tracks from this sound I dug up from my collection 🥂

I have honestly listened over this set at least once a day since it was recorded.

Here is the mix to accompany my Rainbow Serpent Festival application. A 75-min representation of the direction I would take a set if my submission was successful - some dark and dreamy, deep melodic techno/electronica.

For the last few years this gathering has been up there with my top festival experiences - have also had the opportunity to play the last two with the Welcome To The Jungle crew so thought i'd it give a shot at sharing the stage with some of the world's finest.

Here is the recording from my set at the Boogie Beats Open Air day party that was held at the Penny Black in Brunswick on Saturday Jan 6th. 

It was my first set for the year, it went down quite beautifully and the crowd really soaked it up which was amazing given the extreme heat/weather conditions.

JYDN Live From The Boogie Beats Open Air @ Penny Black, Jan 6th 2018

It was an absolute honour to be handpicked by both Lane 8 and Anjunadeep to warm the floor, open for the man himself and deliver some deep/emotive, progressive house and techno tunes to a sold out dancefloor (of somewhat 1000 heads) at Melbourne's revered Prince Bandroom last night.

JYDN Live From Prince Bandroom, Lane 8 Warm-up

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a recording from one of my sets and this seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to kick my ass back into line. From the loving people to the friendly giving ethos, the wholesome community vibe and the unforgettable moments - last weekend out at Burning Seed was a rather incredible experience.

This recording is from my set at the Pelican Villa theme camp on Sunday night from 1am after the Equinox Events boys and before the brother Pat Tassone - a huge thanks to the crew for having me on board, it was by far one of my highlights of the whole week.

After a bit of a wake up call over the last few weeks I’ve come to realise it’s about time for me to focus on myself, my art and my music. Here’s my next recording (with many more on the way), from a few Sundays ago when I played in the cage at Revolver Upstairs for Primitive People alongside all my closest mates - it was an absolute ripper of an afternoon/evening and it felt great to really let my hair down!

“Success is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” - Lucius Annaeus Seneca. This perfectly sums up the project that is willing & abel as we get ready to give birth to their melodic masterpiece - Seneca.

Thick and luscious is definitely one way to describe this debut record from the boys. Powerful overtones carry this beast throughout it’s journey with layered textures, stacked synthesis and a real dedication to pushing their craft to the next level.

Accompanying the original we have our label heads Jydn, Amuze & BONGANI all contributing their own impressions of the original and welcoming back one of our very own favourites after a slight hiatus with a driving remix by Dylan Carroll to round out the EP.

These lads inspire us so much with their passion and desire to push their creative boundaries and rest assured, there is plenty more on the way!

PREMIERE : Alex Sharp - Varṇa Andha (Jydn Remix)[Recovery Collective]

The return of our comrade Alex Sharp finally sees the light of day with the heavily packed Varna Andha EP, featuring his original record and a collection of pumping remixes by Boy with Boat, Jydn, Purple Pill and Shane Belles.

The title track is everything you can expect from his deep, dark and progressive sound - a rolling, throbbing bassline tied with weaved synth work and haunting, love ballad like vocal.

Boy with Boat then takes full flight and picks up the pace a little with his remix, introducing all new layers of progression, flavour and vibe.

After a short hiatus we have Jydn back in full force to shake things up with his very special rendition that blurs the lines between genres by fusing progressive, melodic and breaks elements to create a truly unique sound and direction.

Hailing from Tel Aviv with our third remix is Purple Pill featuring a stripped back version, a funkier melodic baseline and deep breakdown.

Last but not least is Shane Belles, a young and upcoming emerging name of the scene in Amsterdam, who puts his chuggy progressive touch on the original.

It felt quite surreal and sometimes a little overwhelming to be amongst the energy of Elements Festival 2020 after such a crazy year - but being surrounded by my close friends and so many great people, the amazing weather, great music and all the wholesome vibes were second to none and was very well needed.
