Playing again for the first time in 8 years on a proper rig for a best mates birthday. 

Definitely more than a few mixes, levels/timing, could have been better. A bit rusty. Settled in a bit on the back half.

After a busy month playing music, this set stands out for me.  Things just clicked and flowed, and i've yet to get sick of it. I’ve been deejaying since junior high, and up until last year, my passion for it never wavered.

Last October, I played a set at an annual boat party I always attend. Honestly, I sucked. A few of my mates really crushed their sets. Actually everyone really played great, that night made me realize something. I had lost the passion I once had for playing music. 

There was also a set by my friend Paul Leath that I missed, and I truly regret it. Paul passed away recently, and I wish I’d taken the opportuniy to see him do what he loved. He had such a deep love for music and it showed every time he played. His smile and his deejay dance. Makes me smile and at the same time brings tears to my eyes thinking about him. 

I came home from the boat party feeling deflated. It really bothered me that the fire I once had was gone. 

It took some time to reset and find my footing again. I’m not completely back yet, but I played a two-hour set recently, and for the first time in a while, it felt good. That feeling, the connection to my music, the joy, it’s been missing but this set felt good.

I have a large crew of friends that are bad ass deejays. Thank you for always inspiring me and you know who you are.

A labor of love, a fascinating group of weird and wonderful people and a rare level of water make this a profoundly moving moment in space time.   Recorded late Friday night into the sunrise, from dark to light, folk chasing frogs, the peanut gallery, and disco tents, this has to be one of my favorite all time moments playing music.
