"Tao" is an eclectic mix of the classic elements of Boom-Bap instrumentals and some oriental-ish sounds, it's tempo it's a bit above what you would expect from a classic Hip-Hop beat, which adds to the inspirational, adventurous and uplifting overall vibe of the beat.

I wanted to pay homage to one of the main influences of modern Lo-Fi Hip-Hop: Nujabes. Throughout his catalog, his sound tends to be more melodic and soulful than what you would expect from a 90's beat from the US, which tend to be more grimy and obscure.

In East Asian philosophy, Tao is the natural order of the universe whose character one's human intuition must discern in order to realize the potential for individual wisdom. This intuitive knowing of "life" cannot be grasped as a concept; it is known through actual living experience of one's everyday being. Sometimes it can be translated as "way", "path" or "route". (Wikipedia)

While listening to the final mix of the song, I had the recurring feeling of adventure, as if I was walking into the unknown. I think "Tao" really grasps the uplifting and adventurous feeling of the song.
