24 year old music prodigy known by his MC name, K-DEUCE.  Having been instilled with music since birth, as his father and uncle were both musically inclined and formed a band, it was Hakiem's destiny to be involved with Hip Hop. It wasn't until the age of fifteen when K-DEUCE really started delving into music, however, as he took after his elders.  During this time in his life, K-DEUCE was in high school and found himself homeless for a short period of time. His hardships led him to literally write himself out of depression.  His knack for writing rhymes came easy and ultimately, K-DEUCE decided to pursue Hip Hop.  Aside from the musical upbringing provided by his father and uncle, K-DEUCE was also inspired by artists such as Nas and Tupac. For him, these artists stayed true to who they were and always kept a positive message in their music. These were characteristics that K-DEUCE adopted in his own music.  As for his sound, K-DEUCE uses the word "vintage" in order to describe it.  Focusing heavily on lyricism and storytelling, like that of emcees from the Golden Era, K-DEUCE's smooth flow meshes well with Boom Bap inspired beats.  But not to be contained in a box, K-DEUCE showcases versatility as he displays comfort and ease when rhyming over an array of beats.
 
 Still fresh in the game, K-DEUCE won't let "Freshman blues" hinder him from making progress. Even his first setback didn't discourage him from releasing his first project. Currently working on his official debut mixtape, "Dramatic Entrance," we will soon be able to hear an opus of his progress thus far. The title is fitting considering this will be K-DEUCE's introduction and induction into the industry. Shortly after this release, K-DEUCE will be prepared to release another project to follow-up. Having just a few singles/videos, some blog coverage and one show under his belt, we can definitely expect more from this Louisiana-bred emcee. "I know I'm new but I was so proud of my progress when I got my first blog feature outside of my area." K-DEUCE's eagerness to grow, learn, develop and invest in his career is admirable and will only propel him into new stages of his budding career.

And when asked what the ultimate goal for him is, he simply states: I just want to help people understand the power that exists within us through music. Ever since I was knee-high, all I wanted to be was the greatest - and nothing less. 

This statement speaks volumes, as will his music.
