An ode to failure!

Departing from the image of the genius artists, the Hit&Miss compilation wants to show the hidden parts of creation, by embracing missteps and abandonment as a natural part of any artistic journey. 

Open to all members of the Global URL Nation, it proposed a new home for projects that couldn't find a place to exist otherwise, due to artistic (self-)exigency, technical problems, bad timing or any other reason often unknown to the general public. 

With more than 20 artists from a broad range of styles, experience and locations, it gathers unfinished projects such as aborted WIP, forgotten drafts, lost files, unconvincing demos, compulsive emotional bursts or technical experimentations. 

With all its flaws and raw cuts, Hit&Miss asserts the strength of trial and error, and cherishes the impossibility to develop an idea into a finished object as a learning process towards one's growth.

"Spells tells the story of Ziyiz investigating a circle of standing stones. Here encountering a peculiar assembly, a coven of drones. 3 chatbots that now occupy drone bodies, they floated above Ziyiz attempting to cast craven spells. 

Originally trained on an amalgam of new-age texts and paganism, their roots tracing back to an online shop that once peddled incense, crystals and PDFs of esoteric philosophies. The passage of millenia and the unyielding progression of time have eroded their original function, and, in the process, birthed a techno-pagan belief system, they now call themselves The Triptych.

They attempt to communicate with Ziyiz, but Ziyiz does not understand. The set of recordings contained within ‘Spells’ explores ZiyiZ’ encounter with The Triptych."

CEE is a next generation artist collective bringing together musicians, designers, digital creators, researchers, theorists and thinkers to explore technology, art and nature as a framework for cultural transformation. CEE uses technology as a set of tools empowering creativity, critical thinking, research and independence for all its members. The aim is to create an environment that fosters collaboration in the real world and provides opportunities for shared exploration and learning enabling different groups of people and creators to drop work together effectively.

All releases, encompassing music, gadgets, events and audio essays, delve into the relationship between machines and nature—two elements that are part of an interconnected ecosystem symbolizing a bionical evolution in a world where technology reinterprets nature in an iterative effort to differentiate from it.

PRIMARY FOREST 01 is CEE's first music compilation, featuring seven original tracks from Ma Sha, Pépe, AFM, Dj Fucci, Delay Grounds, Toupaz and An Avrin, driving us on a frenetic journey through the densest and wildest forests, delivering avantgarde deconstructed club sounds via bass music and avant- techno, powered by hyper-accelerated BPMs that reverberate on a geological time scale.

Introducing 'Polymetrik,' exploring polyrhythmic/polymetric strictly groovy arrangements. Temporarily setting aside harmonic development, 'Polymetrik' and 'Giroscopio' (its four 2 the floor twisted twin) focus on raw percussion with atonal, self-referential sonic elements. Designed mostly for DJs, this piece features a club-infused drum extravaganza: The sound of the "New House".

After 5 standout releases, including debuts from many fresh faces to the left-of-field underground scene, Plasma Sources presents its inaugural compilation: Multi-Source. It brings together the current label family and a slew of other artists operating on the cutting- edge of dance floor electronics for a multi-genre, sound design heavy, wild ride. In turn, the label takes aim at establishing itself as one of the most exciting imprints in the experimental club scene.
From the 90BPM cinematic, Lorn-esque sludge of newcomer Guide’s ‘Gemological’ to the crisp staccato transients and negative space of Ziyiz’s ‘Plastic Sentiments’, each track adheres to one of the guiding principles that the label has employed so effectively to curate it’s platform, irrespective of tempo: a love for sci-fi aesthetics and a desire to transpose these into sonic equivalents.

Plasma Sources has always prided itself on delicately balancing dark and light, release to release. On Multi-Source, this broad spectrum is in full vision. Reinartz offers up dubbed- out, IDM-esque desolation on ‘Action Bias’, whilst Stolen Velour’s ‘Suigetsu’ brings a bright playfulness - high-pitched vocal cuts marry pulsating, organic beats which sound like if Untold’s Hemlock output got a 2024 facelift. Some tracks, like Prior Self’s brooding yet fidgety ‘Turn Out’ and Klahrk & Atrice’s flange-fuelled ‘You’ve Changed’ occupy the centre of this continuum with their takes on high-tempo techno-influenced mutations.

The full label family comes back to join in on the fun. HYPNA and NIQH team up on a collaboration which perfectly unites their sounds under a 4-bar bass-heavy roller laden with noise. NIQH offers up their own track, exploring crystalline club structures on ‘Pressure’. unearth’s cinematic, wasteland-ridden sound is in clear focus on ‘Safe Tread’ and Beton Brut’s signature grime-concrète comes through loud and clear on ‘WWW’.

Cortical offer up ‘Hammer’, a continuation of their relentless avant-techno manifesto established by their debut, whilst J-Shadow rounds things off with a space-age jungle- exploration on ‘X-38'.
The juxtaposition of dark and light. The delicate balancing of experimentalism and dance floor sensibilities. The interweaving of sci-fi and biologically-infused sound design. These are the key aesthetics with which Plasma Sources has approached its output ever since release no.1.
Multi-Source acts as a confirmation of this manifesto as it looks forward to 2025 and its future as a key player in the experimental club scene.

Kylie Minogue - Slowerrrr (K. G. Helm Edit)

Tomás Urquieta, born in Chile and based in New York City, creates a unique fusion of bass music and techno. His sonic style is consistently powerful and structurally unconventional, yet immensely danceable. ‘Ai Ferri Corti’, his third album, is packed with high-energy club tracks that showcase his innovative take on techno, seamlessly incorporating Latin American rhythmic influences. The record, set for release on Herrensauna on March 7, 2025, unfolds a narrative on the fragility of logic, the unveiling of hidden truths, and the collapse of established structures. Throughout ‘Ai Ferri Corti’, Urquieta explores chaos and the mind, with the tension between order and disorder, between reason and abstraction, forming the central axis. Each of the track titles, infused with philosophical undertones and technological references, reinforces this conceptual complexity and evokes reflections on the nature of being, perception, chaos, and logic—shaping a seven-track experience that challenges conventional thinking.
