pølaroit's current EP, Pure, released via Christian Löffler's Ki Records, continues to draw on the dichotomy of these two emotions but this time around there's a bigger sense of presence and liveliness. Through the use of field recordings and vocals, pølaroit wants to rescue the human and organic element of creativity in their music, "Sometimes it's just a recording of rumbling leaves or organic textures that make the sound more tangible."

A perfect example of something that is delicious because it is sweet, bitter and sour at the same time is today’s fantastic cocktail by Fejká. His smooth creation for Schirmchendrink is a very desirable sip, and the light sugary melodies but sour and sometimes bitterish melancholy is a flavor that is absolutely lovable!

Based in Stuttgart, Brian Zajak, aka Fejká, began his musical career at the age of 17. Torn between the atmospheric vibe and the calm of ambient music, as well as the state of absolute ecstasy that provokes the powerful beat of techno, Fejká couldn’t decide which direction his music production would take. Thus, he decided to experiment with both.

Drawn to artists such as Christian Löffler, HVOB and Kiasmos, the appeal of his style lies in its varied influences, and ability to harness the best of two contrasting genres. It was Christian Löffler himself who approached him, leading to his Debut EP "Twilight" which was released 2017 on Löffler’s Label Ki Records. 

His highly anticipated Debut Album "Reunion" has just been released, also on Ki Records. It is a hugely expansive record that frequently shifts gears between driving rhythms and endless soundscape. Fejká developed a sound with a rich sense of song-craft & melody alongside his ambient deep-house foundations, and we’re happy to hear one of his album tracks in this mix.

How are you? No, seriously, how are you? Do you feel the way you thought you would feel a month ago, or do you not feel good at all, but realize there’s no other option? What have you been missing the most from your life from before the pandemic and what will you never ever miss again? What has lost its meaning and what has acquired a new one? What have you decided to do once the lockdown is lifted for good, and when and where will you travel to when the planes start to fly again? How pleasant have these days been for you, or to what extent do you think they should never have occurred in the first place? There are always more questions than answers but everything seems a little mixed up right now. Anyway, today’s is the last Monday of spring, and we are publishing @fejka’s set, the 83rd out of 100 mixes that will be created for the “homard” project, which we hope to unveil to the world next year.
