"The Italian born, Berlin based, DJ and producer Ruff Stuff have rocked up on a host on different labels, including Shall Not Fade, Madhouse Records, Suol, Sloth Boogie, Ruff Stuff music LTD, Apparel music and STEP Recordings.
However, it's the work on his own label, the aptly names Ruff Stuff Music Ltd, for which he’s arguably best renowned. 

Grew up during the ‘90’s electronic wave, firstly as clubber and then as DJ and vinyl enthusiast, in the mid-2000s he decided to start produce electronic music. The first steps were moved on the Idm and Ambient territories, driven by his love for ethereal melodies and intricate broken beats.

The shift to House happened after re-discovering different classic records hidden in his collection.
From here the idea to create a music project focused on representing the vibes of the old-school House, Techno and Garage with a propensity to find the newest, freshest sounds. 
Rough samples, hypnotic melodies, groovy beats and vocals are the main ingredients that marks the Ruff Stuff’s sound."

5 Mag's RISE series features a new mix from Littlelake, co-founder of Leipzig, Germany-based label Brombért Records. 

Brombért is a "platform for electronic dance music styles of all kinds and is characterized by a special music selection and idiosyncratic appearance. Brombért releases analog and digital. Each release should ideally be different and surprising from the previous one. Because it is the moments of surprise that make club nights unforgettable."

Littlelake says the "release plan may not be very promising from a commercial point of view, but that is not what Brombért is about. Brombért records stand for themselves, independent of any market trends. This can also be seen in the covers, which are handmade screen-printings show only a picture by the graphic artist Zatina Kessl. In this way, the cover image is recognized as a work of art in its own right, without any written information to distract from it. Music and cover are given equal space, but at the same time this also results in an inseparable unity."

This mix is a selection of old and new favorites giving an overview of "the range of music that could be released on Brombért Records. Glasgow-based Jack Howland has a keen ear for good music - with his focus more on a progressive house style, with deep influence from the birthplace of house; Chicago. Expect the acid basslines, piano chords, and more, which catapulted house music to become the global success it is today within this mix.

Jack has supported Scotland’s own Ewan Mcvicar and played a wide variety of venues such as the legendary @Sub Club , Fly Open Air festival & the very venue he supported Ewan in: The Berkley Suite.

Taking inspiration from some of the scenes big players such as Reflex Blue , Guy Contact & Demi Riquisimo, Jack has captivated audiences and been commended for his playing style and tune selection, gaining notoriety amongst rave goers and his peers as a respected selector. Expect much more from him in the future as he delves into his crates and plays for audiences at some of the best venues Scotland has to offer
