Harley Streten aka Flume is the electronic dreamboat with a big following and even bigger skillset. The epic Deluxe Edition of the Aussie producer's self-titled debut is due to drop on 12th November, with a physical version following on 9th December via Transgressive Records. 

The mixtape promises to be something very special indeed, with feature verses and reworks from the likes of Ghostface Killah, How To Dress Well and Twin Shadow. Press play for the premiere of LDRU's take on Insane, featuring the magical Moon Holiday.

The song uses non-instrumental sounds, namely the sound of sea-weaves on the shore topped with an electronic pulse of sorts evoking broadcasting equipment. This sound introduces an a cappella number with long, static lines slowly piling into a refreshingly dissonant chord which then retracts back into silence.

i was on my way home, listening to this beat by @weirddough
he's an amazing producer, been always inspired by his stuff.
this beat is originally called "chocolate milk" and i just looped the first part.

so yea i was on my way home and i started to write down some thoughts and i already had this melody in my head. i always end up posting stuff so spontaneous. it was like two takes.. nothing big. could've done better but i didn't feel like redoing this. wanted to keep the moment. it's very personal.

This film explores the messy front lines of the crusade to make robots part of our everyday experience. From initial sketches, to soldering wires, to programming actions and performing experiments “in the wild”, scientists, high school students, and artists obsessed with bringing robots to life are shaping a new era in our relationship with technology. Yet, by observing their successes and failures along the way, what becomes clear is that robots actually have a lot to teach us about what it means to be human. The Sum of Its Parts is a celebration of hands-on human creativity, and a contemplation of our deep need for connection and community as a source of meaning in our lives.

Its soundtrack, composed and performed by William Ryan Fritch, is a dynamic counterpart to the film's central themes and philosophical inquiries. The score's markedly organic instrumentation (string ensemble, french horn, vibraphone and prepared piano), is wrought into circuitous rhythms and patterns that hum, churn and grind with a mechanical steadiness that belies the achingly human and expressive compositions they propel.
