Into The Abyss #049 | Ópalo

Ópalo is the alias of the DJ/musician and producer Alejandro Romero. The objective of this name is to give a concept to the experimental, downtempo and ambient style music proposed by the artist. With this alias Ópalo he has already released an LP on his own label 'Caracteres'. For his live performances Ópalo uses two formats, a DJ set or a live set. Their DJ sets are known for mixing music from various eras, especially experimental concepts within downtempo. His live sets take on a rather introspective sense where the artist takes the opportunity to show his processes within the studio when composing. In retrospect Ópalo is a project that proposes deep, urban sounds with human content using a futuristic language that at the same time recycles elements from the past, especially nineties music.
