In the last few years she’s become one of the leading DJs on the International gig circuit taking her sound to over a hundred cities worldwide. In May 2022 she embarks on her first North American tour. She has her own bi-weekly radio show, also called Deep Woods and her own event brands. Born in Brasília, Brazil’s capital city, Barbie Melo is a techno DJ and events producer member of Coletivo Hangover. She has enjoyed electronic music since the very first time she listened to it. As time passed by, she fell even deeper in love with the strong beats and intense energy of Techno.

Her passion grew to the point she could no longer be satisfied by just being a listener. So, she decided to move up to the other side and become a DJ, with European Techno as her main influence.

Foi apreciadora de música eletrônica desde o início de sua adolescência e, com o tempo foi sendo seduzida pelo Techno, o que se transformou numa paixão pelas batidas fortes e pela energia intensa e hipnotizante do gênero a ponto de não achar mais suficiente ser apenas ouvinte e decidir passar pelo outro lado tornando-se DJ e tendo como principais fontes de inspiração e influência o Acid, o Peaktime e o Hard Techno europeus.

Proof Of Concept

Born in the 80's.

       The journey with electronic music began in 2004. From sets played with vinyl, where the first steps were taken in to BreakBeat and Techno vibes.

The inspiration for my mixes and tracks comes from Berlin, where I have lived for the last few years. Current sets I often play in hybrid form, a combination of classic DJing with analog drum machine and sampling.

        Most mixes take the audience on an audio journey with flowing electronic melodies from melodic techno and deep sounds from deep techno and deep house.
