In the past, when I was suffering from depression, I often questioned the meaning of life and the reason for being alive. It took me over 10 years to find my answer. For me, the answer is love. All kinds of love—from family, friends, and a partner to a universal love for humanity and a deep appreciation for music—make me feel happy to be alive. Sharing warmth and caring for each other give me strength.

Because of this, my birthday isn’t just “my day.” It’s a day that reminds me of how grateful I am for the love I receive from the people around me. I always want to give something back to others rather then just receiving something as the birthday person.

So, when I played this set at Dublab DE, I baked a cake and brought it to share with my friends who stopped by. This mix is also my way of expressing gratitude and celebrating with all of you—the people who bring love and warmth into my life.
