NTOAB Jeez is back. This time presenting a song from the new born opus of Ended (CIRCADIAN - out on the 4th of June, yes, 2021, by Demord Enregistrements). Ended is a venture by Alban Mercier (as well behind the blurry sunsetish cover) and Léo Campbell (coucou Léo !). For the picked song, the two gentle thugs decided to team up with Delphine Marais, aka Rose Mary and Kyle Knapp for the saxo. 
After a long and intense talk with two of the protagonists, full of chewy stories (“hum … yes … ahahah … SKIP), “Daylight” it is in the sunny sky of Flanders. Classic “panties-on” song in becoming, Rose Mary is spelling with her voluptuous voice an ode to the time. The boys take care of the drive, one way in and without stop and go, through a charming bassline full of copper wastes.

Zaliva-D is a Beijing-based electronic music & visual group with members of Li Chao (music) and Aisin-Gioro Yuanjin (VJ). 
Starting in 2003, Zaliva-D has bred the Oriental dark electronic music of unique style with hard work and polishing over a decade. Its iconic timbre and melodies associated with successive dark, pale scenes, flogging all mainstream energy. 
Zaliva-D released 3 albums in the last year and a half on labels such as Shanghai's Svbkvlt and Amsterdam's Knekelhuis.

A lover of free and perched figured dating, Why Pink? assumes a big penchant for weird and leftfield synthetic dissonances. Curious, he advocates the mixing of genres against a backdrop of hypnotic moist and granular textures. Present on the Marseille music scene, he also broadcasts his mixes and selections on local radio stations such as Radio Grenouille and Tikka radio, and more recently on one-shot shows with LYL radio, Tsugi radio and the promising podcast series entitled Off-cuts.

LAYER #254 | Why Pink?

Kӣr is the solo production epithet of Bane Jovančević, resident live
artist and program manager of Belgrade’s club Drug§tore. His first
release Imrali was on Creme Organization and second one
Mramorje was released on Yerevan Tapes.
By combining traditional and experimental influences in electro-acoustic music,
Kӣr creates the sound in which drone-navigated post-industrial logos
transgresses into a tribal mythos, in search for the traces of future. The clash of
synths and acoustics invoke an audio landscape of Byzantine sacral traditions
and Balkan folklore rhythms. Kӣr’s symbolic language (Dimiskija, Imrali,
Mramorje, Balčak) layers it up with an ancient temporality and its logic of being
that is not past but our own. The basic concept is to challenge conventional and
predominant rhythmic structures in music by juxtaposing traditional rhythms with
contemporary electronic sound design. The visual imaginary invoked in the
sound – that of a forest air, a river, a hum of birds – delivered through the
ruthlessness of the machine, insist on an active listening, to all the otherworldly
of this world. It is music that hypnotizes, contemplates and raves. And it always
dances.
