Label co-owner Samuel Bruce (AKA Mallorquín) lines up a guitar sample from a dusty Turkish funk record, alongside an unstoppable rhythm track. Meanwhile, dubby trumpet and synths drop in and out of the mix. Distant voices call from across the ages. Grab a coconut and keep chugging around the dance floor, as this one won’t let you go.

WOLF + LAMB is a record label & artist collective. Home to Soul Clap, No Regular Play, Deniz Kurtel, Slow Hands, Voices of Black and friends. Representing a laidback dance sound in electronic music. It’s always passionate music that moves hearts, not just feet. The Lowheads are Italian & Ghanaian duo grown in the North of Italy's underground scene. Their sound is a blend of New York Funky-Disco, Afrobeat and Chicago House. Their first EP debuted on  Strictly Rhythm, they have remixed for Classic Music Company, with previous releases on WOLF+ LAMB, collaborating with fellow label artists Pillow Talk. The Lowheads featured on the ‘Italo Funk’ comp on Soul Clap Records which was out in January 2019. Their track ‘Tsubasa’ caused quite the stir.

This album ‘After Tokyo’ was written after several trips to Japan and a love affair with the county.  It’s a collection of eleven tracks that moves through tempos and genres. The opener ‘Benji’ features Minnesota’s Greg Paulus of No Regular Play, with his Latin flavoured jazz trumpet. ‘Seven Afro Mood’ is 70s inspired upbeat Afro Beat, the smooth and soulful vocal of ‘Stop, Breathe, Relax, ft. Chasing Kurt’ is the breakout single released 28th June. Tracks ‘Phil’, ‘After Tokyo’ and ‘In This Moment’ provide useful tools for the DJ to transition in mid to down tempo styles.  ‘Heart Song’ with its twinkling arpeggio’s and Japanese vocal is where it starts to get deep. ‘Got 2 Be Free’ is a synth driven piece, exhilarating at the same time uplifting, with a surprising vocal treat. ‘Brass’ a certain tribute to Brass Construction, is a four to the floor house stomper. ‘Hip’ slows thigs down to a more Balearic pace with low slung guitar and chimes. The closing track ‘Gentle Rain ft. Tomomi Ukumori’ throws a curve ball which could easily be the Balearic anthem of the summer.

Palavas are two mysterious producers hailing from the South of France ready to position themselves as one of the hottest new Indie Dance duos on the scene. Their name, ​Palavas​, is a reference to Palavas-les-Flots (FR), a vacation town near their home that in the 1980’s owned the prestigious title of "Queen of Mediterranean Beaches.” In their music, Palavas aims to recapture this golden era, with sun drenched italo-disco elements, and summery beats.

The duo has already been busy making a mark on the scene. Their first eps were released on​ Intercept Records​ in addition to their own label, ​AZZUR, and have ​garnered DJ support by acts such as ​Hot Toddy, Gilles Peterson, Folamour, Ame, Laurent Garnier, Marcus Worgull, Grazzz, Crackazat​ and more.​ T​hey’ve also been busy DJing, with highlight performances at the​ "I Love Techno​" and "Big Bang Music Festivals" in Europe.

Celebrating its 4th anniversary Mexican label Duro releases the second installment of their various artist series called 'Muy Duro' and kickstarts 2020 with five label befriended artists, namely Mordisco, Jepe, Darlyn Vlys, Fausto and Carisma, that synonominously represent Duro's international philosophy when it comes to music and giving it a home. With 116bpm Spanish duo Mordisco delivers a dark disco-ish wave, 'Sacromonte', slowing the generel pace of the V/A a bit down but still capturing the right amount of Latin vibe or their Latin roots with a lead-synth that's causing 'Sacromonte' to become one of these groovey, disco creepers one enjoys hearing in a sweaty club or under the open sky.

'Muy Duro Vol. 2' will be released on Duro on January 24th, 2020.
