For GAB MIX 035 we’re absolutely delighted to present the one-and-only Mixtress! Pushing for the hardcore agenda down in London, Mixtress has been absolutely killing it this year with stunning mixes on FOLD, Threads, Netil, 1020, Aaja, Subtle, Mode, foundation fm, Reprezent, Rinse and a recently-launched residency on Balamii. As well as this, Mixtress continues to inspire and support a range of female and non-binary DJs and producers through her highly admirable work as Sisu’s creative lead. 

In her guest mix for GAB, Mixtress showcases her eclectic collection with an outstanding mix dominated by electro but featuring drill, grime, breaks, bashment, jungle and hardcore - pretty much everything under the sun! 

We’re extremely gassed that Mixtress herself considers her GAB mix as one of her all-time favourites. Booked in at a range of mad events this summer, including Das Booty’s takeover at Venue MOT Unit 18, promoters best be hitting up Liquid Paradise to secure bookings with one of London’s freshest DJs! Word on the street is that Mixtress may even be making an appearance in Leeds sometime soon!

“Welcome to 24 hours with an alien. My name’s Katya, I’m a London based DJ originally from Russia. The idea behind the takeover is that I’m going to be taking you on a day in my UFO, to many different planets each exploring a different genre. We’ll be starting somewhere deep under the Drexciyan sea with an electro set courtesy of Gunfinger Food & Mixtress. We’ll gradually head to space for Dr Watson’s set and make it all the way to Tres-2b, the darkest planet in the universe, for eXpressO’s set. After that we’re gonna start heading back to Earth for sunrise, listening to Jake Walker’s set along the way. We’ll make it to London for a day of UK bass, Garage & Funky. Once we finish up in London, we’ll make our way back to space with Dr Baird, Seven Hills Records, Tañ & Rough. We go back to the dark planet for an industrial techno & electro finish. Here in NSW, we've hit the end of the lockdown. The sun is shining, and what better way to celebrate this special month with some 2-stepping grooves from Inner West local, @bisoux2050.

A staple of Sydney's bass music renaissance, Bisoux is known for her club-ready production and edits, bringing energy and fun back to the original garage sounds.

This mix feeds us an hour of unstoppable steppers, wubs, and untzs, with familiar melodies and edits putting both modern and classic UKG sounds on exhibition.
