With their self-made instruments, the Egger brothers merge image and sound into a unique signal stream. Live images from old video cameras are fed back via television, begin to modulate each other and generate audible frequencies.

Daniel Maszkowicz is a power electronics research engineer, and multidisciplinary sound artist. He develops and implements devices for manipulating electrical signals and electromagnetic fields with a variety of unusual analogue feedback and sensors.

EMC:EMI – Electromagnetic compatibility and interferences – is a term coming from industrial technologies related to machine interactions. The music aims to illustrate how electrical machines interfere with each other as an allegory to human interactions. Fields, Waves and resonanting energies come together in harmonies and dissonances as it would normally do in nature. Using electrical signals and electromagnetic field sensors, the sound sources are then processed through analogue and digital feedbacks and granular synthesis, using sound mixer and SuperCollider for stereo or multichannel set-up.

Electromagnetic compatibility is the ability of electrical equipment and systems to function acceptably in their electromagnetic environment, by limiting the unintentional generation, propagation and reception of electromagnetic energy which may cause unwanted effects such as electromagnetic interference. – Wikipedia
