Yeaa, for me, this set has been a celebration of the endings — for they preceed exciting new beginnings...

This was a beautiful Friday night at Bonjuk Bay, during the 3rd edition of Dream of Utopia Festival... After dinner, crowd started flowing to the dance floor. Oh what a special crowd this was! And so, warming up for my dear friend Cook Strummer, I played this rather slow-burn set. Most of the tracks I dropped in were vinyls, never released on digital... 

Thanks so much to everyone who danced with me... I think, a bit like last year, love was in the air - but in a different way :) <3

Hailing originally from Istanbul, Kabadayi's passion for DJing and house music was ignited during his time spent in the thriving music scene of Chicago. Upon moving to Berlin, he was captivated by the vibrant club culture and soon embarked on the creation of his own events. Founding Sound of Utopia events agency, Kabadayi produced a series of exceptional events, including the immersive 'Land of Utopia' (18-hours, 2-floors) and the renowned 'House in Space' (30-hours, 3-floors) from 2018-2020.

Currently, Kabadayi divides his time between the bustling city of Berlin and the tranquil Turkish Mediterranean Coast, where he owns a boutique hotel. In 2020, he expanded his repertoire, organizing the highly-acclaimed 'Dream of Utopia,' a five-day festival that blends music, wellness, and beach activities, limited to an intimate crowd of 250 attendees.

As a DJ, Kabadayi has earned a respected place among Berlin's elite venues, including Anomalie, Burg Schnabel (ÆDEN), Polygon (OXI), and Beate Uwe. His musical influences are steeped in the deep-tech sounds of Berlin and the house scene of Chicago, preferring to craft unique, groovy deep-tech soundscapes with minimalistic elements. Kabadayi's musical style is characterized by long transitions that skillfully blend two tracks, creating unique sounds and captivating atmospheres.

Here comes my set for the 4th edition of our beloved festival, Dream of Utopia. My slot was Saturday night after-hours (Sunday morning), by the sea floor 🎶

And so, under the Mediterranean sunrise, with clouds and the waves creating a breathtaking canvas, we danced and celebrated the moment where night meets day 🌌✨

Here's a part of the longer set I played at Anomalie, where we made the debut showcase of my new booking agency, Sound of Utopia, on the very last weekend of Summer 2019. 

I wasn't planning to publish, because this isn't my typical sound - it's more light-hearted, melodic and vocal(I was the first DJ on the Open-Air floor). But I ended up listening to it over and over, so maybe you should as well... Came from my heart, made with love... enjoy <3

It was an absolute pleasure to play this set for @Sound_of_Utopia Showcase at the Bunker floor, around the same times Hector Couto and FreedomB were banging the Balsaal. What a party, what a lineup, what a crowd... For me this was the perfect ending for the decade, and a hint of what to expect in 2020's...

I reaally enjoyed playing this set, on a beautiful summer day, at an amazing open-air location by the Spree river (Berlin). Lots of fresh tunes in there that I played for the first time, also many vinyl-only gems ;) It felt amazing being surrounded by so many beautiful people who're all hungry for the groove, the beat, the dance, the connection... Originally from Istanbul, Kabadayi discovered his love for DJing and house music while living in Chicago. Eventually finding himself in Berlin, where the vibrant club scene inspired him to curate his own events, he founded @sound_of_utopia events agency, producing 'Land of Utopia' (18-hours, 2-floors) and 'House in Space' (34-hours, 3-floors) event series between 2018-2020.

Presently, Kabadayi splits his time between Berlin and the Turkish Mediterranean Coast, where he has been organizing 'Dream of Utopia’ — a 5-day music, wellness, and beach festival for an intimate crowd of 250 attendees — since 2020.

As a DJ, Kabadayi has performed at notable Berlin venues, including Anomalie, Burg Schnabel (ÆDEN), Polygon (OXI), Beate Uwe and Christa Kupfer. He finds inspiration in both Chicago's house and Berlin's tech-house scenes, favoring minimal and groovy deep-tech soundscapes. He loves long transitions where two tracks just can’t stop making love with each other, giving birth to unique sounds and atmospheres….
