If reality is subjective, it’s safe to assume the same of the afterlife. On “Heaven,” Louisiana producer/DJ Suicideyear creates his aural rendering of what lies beyond. True to his Southern roots, “Heaven” features low-end that could crack the earth and percussion direct from trap forebears like Lex Luger. To offset the thundering drums, Suicideyear deftly layers blissful keys over pitched vocal samples. When he turns those samples into a near seraphic choir, it's difficult not to imagine a club somewhere in the clouds.
