I wrote this song about 15 years ago. The original version sounds much different, and in my opinion, much worse. I heard it recently and realized that I have struggled to record this song for years in its truest form. I think I've captured this song finally. It's not perfect. None of my work is. But I'm happy that this song is finally in the world of songs now. After 15 years with my lover, it was certainly a "Right Whim".

I don't need words to speak and neither do you; neither does God. We don't need to speak to be heard. The Word is stronger than that. We can be a verb in motion on the ocean of currently vibing waves and ways of the universe. Free from the worst of the curses of the earth and versing our way past the worst of it, to know more than a thirst for the purse. Literal time is wasted not speaking less and doing more, for a chore is more important than a thought when it's finished. Love is the finish line, but shred guitar is the electric current of intention, no mention of word, only the tension of a string unchanged and undemented.

Speakless 2022

So you had an epiphany? You realized that love was the key. You went running through the streets of the anti-utopia screaming that all we need is love. So many songs, so many books, so many poems, so many speeches; time and time again, we return to love being the key.

Why can't we just follow the rules? That would be too easy. To trust in God and just love, knowing that even if someone intended you physical harm that the universe is bigger than their need for attention. The urge to talk and be heard is what has us creating obstacles against hugs.

The little ones are watching! They are looking for the way that is naturally familiar to them. Love makes sense. Understanding takes an adult filter, love knows itself from birth. Everyone knows what embrace feels like or what it could feel like. Why do we hoard it like gold? Like all currencies, shouldn't it be spent?

There is no conspiracy here! Love is the key! It's not hard to figure out once someone has shown you the way! If you find yourself in a cliche form of love, love it!

Cliché Of Love

SO I always start with the drum track. The new drum set is playing super well and my skills are getting better every day. The best way for me to practice is to record and for this one I knew I wanted some energy. It's always interesting because I never know what will come of these tracks as I am in the process. Once I turned on the distortion, I never looked back. This song has a lot of fuzz and a bunch of screaming, but I feel like at moment, it really finds itself. I'm happy to share yet another wild creation from my mind and fingers and look forward to more tracks to come on this new batch of singles! Well, I've obviously been listening to rap lately. I always try to resist the urge to write hip hop tunes, but always give in if I can find a beat I like. It's actually a 100% serious song about being the best you can be. Weakness creeps in and can allow us to make the wrong decisions. Being clear minded and focused is a much better goal than focusing on the fog. Don't give in. Don't give up. Be your own Alpha and get things done. 

Being an Alpha is not about putting others down, it's about having enough energy to fill the cup of others!

Breaking Down My Walls

This is my 100th track posted to Soundcloud! While I may have written a few more songs than this, it is really cool for me to hit this milestone with you all. I've been working on this album, "False Palmetto", for most of 2023 so far and I think this track will cap it off. Unless I get a hit of inspiration over the weekend I think this album has everything it needs. It traverses a serious change in my life that I have had to accept and adapt to. The lyrics and the vibes across the way lament the old but embrace the new. One of the newest vibes incorporated into the album and my life has been reigniting a friendship with bassist, Jeremy Wiser. It's been super cool collaborating with him and this track shows exactly why I enjoy working with him. I think I want my next album to be a completely collaborative affair, so I didn't want to dump any more tasty tracks onto this one. It's a love song.
To be honest, recording the lyrics for this one drove me crazy, and I may redo them, but needed to be done with the song so I can keep this project moving forward. I don't hate it, in fact, I think it turned out well, but the vocals were chaotic, and ultimately I would go back and record in a setting where I can really cut loose and not worry about if I'm bothering/ignoring people. Home studio blues be damned. This song is a cool creation and I am glad to share it with you! I hope you enjoy it!
