Overall Theme:  Extreme Discomfort/Phobia

How suiting, for the challenge most feared in the VPC.  You have a wide open field here and can choose to rap about anything that entices fear, discomfort, trepidation.  It can be a phobia that you have, it can be a situation you have experienced.  The song does not have to be about the fear of that object or situation, it can simply be about it if you’d like.  Hate spiders?  You can write a song about spiders without having to write about your fear of them.  We just want you to embrace that uncomfortableness or fear.

That’s right, your song can be about anything you want.  You can collab as many guest vocalists* as you want.  The only thing we ask is:  MAKE THE COLLABS COUNT.  Make sure your track is still around a unified subject matter, and then GO WILD.  Vocalists, bring your best.  Producers, show off what you are capable of.  Incorporate a non-traditional instrument into your beat.  We want to see Sitars, Theremins, Hurdy-Gurdies, Panpipes, Accordions, Recorders…  Anything that’s not traditionally found in hip hop. We expect this track to pull out all the stops.

Dragon Ball Series (Japanese: ドラゴンボール, Hepburn: Doragon Bōru) is a Japanese media franchise created by Akira Toriyama in 1984. The initial manga, written and illustrated by Toriyama, was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 to 1995, with the 519 individual chapters collected into 42 tankōbon volumes by its publisher Shueisha. The Dragon Ball story takes place on Earth where Goku goes on adventures to find the Dragon Balls, as well as aspiring to become a great fighter, and compete in multiple martial arts tournaments. Goku later stops the evil Red Ribbon Army, then 3 years later, thwarts the Grand Demon King Piccolo's plans for world conquest, afterwards he and his friends protect the Earth from the Saiyan invasion. The setting also goes to Planet Namek later on in the series for Bulma, Gohan, and Kuririn to revive Goku's fallen friends from the Saiyan's attack, where they encounter Vegeta's higher ups, as well as the cosmic emperor, Freeza. Sometime after the defeat of Majin Buu, peace has returned to Earth. Goku has settled down and works as a farmer to support his family. His family and friends live peaceful lives.[3] However, a new threat appears in the form of the God of Destruction named Beerus, who is considered to be the most terrifying and the second most powerful being in Universe Seven. Broly fights Vegeta and then Goku, growing stronger as the fight goes on and catching up to their Super Saiyan God forms. Goku overpowers Broly with Super Saiyan Blue and Frieza responds by murdering Paragus, triggering the awakening of Broly's Super Saiyan powers. He overwhelms Goku and Vegeta with his new power, so they trick him into attacking Frieza instead and then teleport to Piccolo's location. Goku and Piccolo teach Vegeta how to use the Fusion then Goku and Vegeta successfully fuse into Gogeta and teleport back to the battlefield. Gogeta defeats Broly and is about to obliterate him with a powerful energy wave, but Cheelai and Lemo, who had formed a friendship with Broly, summon Shenron with the Dragon Balls and use their wish to transport Broly back to Vampa.

Kadesh Flow is a rapper with an MBA, a trombone Super Saiyan, and a Billboard Charting recording/ performing artist. He brings all of the above together, both on tracks and on stage, in riveting form as he actively blends his jazz and hip hop backagrounds. Desh's most recent project, Now, has been hailed as visceral, real, and boasting astounding energy. Kadesh blends personal, candid lyrical moments and storytelling with callouts to history, social issues, anime, video games, and anything else that may inspire him at the time.

At age 11, 'Desh, as many of his listeners call him, began rapping and playing trombone within two weeks of one another. Now, he can be heard playing on records with hip hop stars like Jidenna and underground stalwarts like Strange Music's Ubiquitous and JL. He also boasts performances supporting artists such as Rakim, Janelle Monae, Dave East, The Revivalists, Tech N9ne, Naughty by Nature, and numerous other prolific acts.

Kadesh is a member of the NPC (Nerdy People of Color) Collective, through which he is working with Founding Member Mega Ran and fellow NPCs such as EyeQ and Richie Branson to both collaborate on fun, relevant content and foster a community for underrepresented nerd enthusiasts. Currently he is lighting up stages around the country, gracing such events as Official SXSW Showcases, MAGFest, PAX West, Anime Expo, Momocon & Otakon, as well as various other music festivals and venues throughout the continental U.S.
