Next up in our OpenLab Presents series is Serbian-born, Brooklyn-based musician X-Coast.
Known for referencing multiple genres in his productions, his smash debut, named Mango Bay EP after the EP’s most successful single, plays with nostalgic sounds of 90’s rave culture and has garnered millions of plays and hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. Cizmic’s productions, along with his ability to effortlessly drift through different genres and musical styles, have earned the artist a ravenous reputation on the internet and beyond.
For this mix, he went back to his roots and put together a special Drum & Bass selection of music that inspired him when he was starting out. In his words:
Not a lot of people know that I come from a drum & bass background. Every now and then I go back to the era of this genre I admire the most ('97-03). I hope this mix is gonna inspire some new producers like it inspired me.

Tune in to the second instalment of Curiosities, where Cici's continues her fascination for psychedelic soulful stylings, whether that's in house, techno or leftfield electronica. 
The epitome of this is the Galcher Lustwerk remix of Park Hye Jin, wherein the 26-year-old rapper, producer, singer and DJ Hye Jin is reworked for late nights and early mornings by US super-producer Lustwerk for five gloriously tripped-out minutes. Elsewhere on the show, Cici opts for underground nuggets from the likes of Future Sound Of London ('Cellular Control', taken from the archives, if ever there was a better description!) as well as gems from Kuniyuki Takahashi and E-Missions Sip on this.
