As an ambient-electro producer, I love sound design. I love manipulating sounds to make different sounds, having the listeners ears and eyes dart around looking for and following the sounds. Battlegrounds was my endeavor into making a warlike track of me tearing myself up as a savage to build myself back up even stronger than I had been before. The synths mold into each other, and the drums flow through the foreground, giving the listener a sense of constant motion and progress in this track. It all builds to a climax containing all previous elements, as well as a chorus-ed sitar, giving the listener melodies and countermelodies to dance upon until the final drop with electric guitar blends with it all, and the album has come fill circle back to the beginning, overlooking the sea as the sun sets.

Battlegrounds

Hi, I’m Sero[Tone]in, and I’m an alcoholic. Not only that, but a poly-addict. If there are 2 things I love in this world, it’s love, itself, and getting f’d up on whatever I had. This song is a mirror image, singing about not only my last drink before a relapse 9 months later, but also a last night with the feelings I had for the girl in the previous 2 tracks. This song had the first verse done, and I was thinking about rapping over the second verse, when I had sent it to a friend Nicole Barker. She told me she had wanted to write on the track and that she had something in mind for the lyrics. I was skeptical at first, since it was MY track about MY addictions, but the amount of passion in her words, and the words she sings fall no less of exceptional in showing exactly how I feel about these situations. The song then builds to a climax where a guitar comes blaring out of the background (Thaaaaaank you for the amazing takes Peter Stone) and leads the listener to the end of the track and the beginning of Battlegrounds.

Last Drink In The City

Once finally realizing that I needed to turn inward for my search of happiness, I begun writing this track. I wanted to make something that would appeal to what I wanted to make originally, which was electro-ambient music. I find the synths help lead the listeners’ thoughts around their minds, and maybe explore places they haven’t in quite some time. I used many of the same production techniques in this track as I did with Malibu Hillside. This track for me is a journey back into myself as a person as well as a producer. When the song climaxes, I am finally at peace with myself and have found fullness.
