LYL RADIO - Mellow Madness w/ Clémentine & Kaffe Crème 28.02.23

I used my laptop with Ableton Live 9 and some controllers to record rhythmic and melodic parts with a groove and a natural automation. 

Mainly inspired from the jazz, I built this track by joining the swing brought by original samples of drums, samples supplied by CDR Dimensions, for example the rhythm made by a basketball (G__D - Deptford Basketball Court) as well as an electronic beat which put a certain regularity and a basis on the foot.

The track was thought on a imagined journey towards Dimensions Festival. This year is my first time in Dimensions as a volunteer. And, with regard to its beautiful programme, to the dream frame, to the grouping of people from different horizons who go to this festival, I wanted to illustrate in music the journey of the festival-goers towards this fabulous destination.

The label’s first V/A release is a celebration of it’s lush disco house sound. Folamour and Ethyène together with Scandinavian homeboys Ari Bald and Dorsi Plantar. 

Second track of the release made by Ethyene, “Watchin’ U” bumps down the BPMs for a proper midtempo hustler.
