This week’s show was dedicated to legendary house DJ and producer, Frankie Knuckles, following the surprising news of his passing earlier in the week. His influence will be everlasting.

Along with acts performing at this weekend’s Snowball music festival here in Denver (with some aptly cold, snowy weather), including @Escort-records and @RealMagic, a new track from @Tycho was featured in line with their current U.S. tour.

The Kaffeine Buzz Show - Episode 87 + London New Journal Interview - Hoxton Radio

On the new day of Wednesday (this time for real), Episode lucky number 88 celebrated a bit of Record Store Day 2014 with a flash from the past, the Side by Side split 7” of The Cure with Dinosaur Jr., and “Just Like Heaven,” along with the re-release of the Husker Du classic, ‘Candy Apple Grey.’

New music for the week was “Mental Radio” from The Faint’s Doom Abuse, and their current U.S. tour dates, @Klaxon’s “Atom to Atom” from their upcoming 'Love Frequency' release due out June 9th.

In festival features, played @Circa Waves, @Superfood, and Childhood (@childhoodmusic), all playing The Great Escape Festival, the latter of which will also perform at Field Day, as will Teleman (@telemanmusic), who are due out with their highly-anticipated debut, ‘Breakfast' on June 2nd.

Sprinkled into the show was @Phantogram, currently on their U.S. tour, Sweden’s Webba (@webbamusic), discovered during SXSW, and @TheShins in promotion of the new Zach Braff film coming to both the U.S. and the U.K. later this year, ‘Wish I Was Here.'
