Dark Space (EP)

You know... Music has to speak for itself and its translation is highly subjective.

Nevertheless i want to give you a little context where those 2 tracks come from:

Early 2021, Hamburg (Germany), i sat locked down in my room. Pandemic in full force and i was close to moving back to my homeland (the black forest in southern germany) to start a new chapter of life.
So i was pretty emotionally loaded with nostalgia, wanderlust and excitement at the same time.
This EP is where all those emotions went.
Making these tunes helped me process everything happening at that time.
So as you can tell they mean a lot to me which made them even harder to get to sound right.
I eventually got them sounding the way i wanted.
And now it really feels sooo good to finally letting'em fly.

They are not my tunes anymore - they're yours now!

The 2nd remix instalment of the ´Destiny EP´ by FAVA is an all German collaboration. ´Drumantle´ aka Kai Hummel & Bass Tikal (Phunkfiction Rec / Triad / Maximono) put hands on the trancy title tune featuring Muffler from Finland and turn it upside down. They professionally ´un-cheese´ it by switching the trance lead sound to a mix of distinctive beats and deep bassline patterns which nicely swing with the original vocal line, resolving in a special harmonic flow. Rounded up by some ´Drumantle´ (Shogun Audio) trademark sounds, this is the perfect bounce for your hot summer nights!

Yo...What's good guys?

I got inspired to do this mix by listening to Victor Wooten's speech "music as a language" at Ted x Talks (link down below). 
He talked about the missing freedom students experience when studying music and the great power music has!

I just love his mindset and i thought: how can i spread his thinking-process and make it more identificable to more people. 

So i just downloaded his speech, cut out the main quotes of it and combined them with a few of my all time favorite tracks.

I hope you guys enjoy listening to it!

2020 has been a very weird year, filled with months out of work, uncertainty and restrictions.
Kai used the time he was given honing his craft making electronic music that touches the soul and heart.
