Local Talk are a record label dedicated to true and timeless house music with influences from jazz, funk and soul. This new release by Wipe The Needle is inspired by the classic UK garage sound.

The label’s back catalogue features music from legends and pioneers ranging from Terrence Parker to the late Soulphiction, and the new release is the first part of a double EP by Wipe The Needle.

Wipe The Needle is a UK based artist that has previously featured tracks on influential record labels including Defected, Soundmen On Wax and Deeply Rooted, and is making a return to Local Talk following the success of his 2019 EP titled Enchanted.

The EP features five funk-fuelled tracks with soulful vocals, breakbeat rhythms and analogue synth lines. Its free-flowing percussion and upbeat party vibe is everything fans have come to expect from the Local Talk style.

“Round of Applause (Feat. Aleysha Lei)” opens the release with its broken beat groove and a feisty female vocal that's underpinned by the slap and funk of the bassline.

This Italian duo goes by the name of Re:Fill and they fuse 1970s jazz-funk, UKs broken beats, and Brazilian-like atmospheres into a refreshing sound for the dance floor. The album 'Cycles' will be released via Cognitiva Records and out tomorrow.

"I Wanna Get Witcha" is a mid tempo love song, playfully serenading a long-time love interest to elevate their friendship into a romantic endeavor. The flirtatious lyrics and sweet plea in Walter’s voice illustrate a flourishing connection between a man and a woman he has known for quite some time.

Walter Thomas wrote and recorded "I Wanna Get Witcha" in North Chicago, Illinois in 1987, and the track was eventually released in the UK by Bay Breeze records on CD in 2000. In 2008, the tune was pressed up as a small run white label promo 7". We were then introduced to this soulful Chicago dance floor starter at the legendary, San Francisco-based dance party Sweater Funk via the deep crates of veteran Selector DJ Kirk. Our reissue is a re-mixed and re-mastered version, accompanied by its previously unreleased instrumental.

Khadeeja Grace's journey took her to Pressure Point Studios, where she meticulously honed her skills as an assistant engineer, immersing herself in the intricacies of the music world. In this behind-the-scenes role, she refined her craft and cultivated essential connections with established artists and producers, like Donald Lawrence, Darius Brooks, Percy Bady, and PJ Morton, as well as contributing to the soundtrack of "Stand" from 'The Birth of a Nation.'

Her latest single, "SHED," in collaboration with Chicago producer and digital creator, SaraProblem, adds a new layer to her evolving artistry. This track introduces a blend of house, techno, and soul, slated to debut on all major digital and streaming platforms from October 22nd.

Khadeeja Grace's journey is peppered with remarkable collaborations. Notably, she achieved recognition for her successful collaboration on her single "Speak Your Love" alongside the legendary house producer Jamie 3:26. The track achieved planetary consensus, premiering on BBC Radio this year, and even received a remix treatment from Detroit master Theo Parrish. These collaborations have cemented her presence in the music industry.

As "SHED" and the forthcoming EP gain traction, Khadeeja Grace quietly reshapes the narrative of Chicago's music scene, crafting her distinct space within the industry. Her signature melodies and rhythms beckon listeners into a sonic journey that's impossible to resist.
