CLUBHOUSE

Absolutely proud of this one. Again, always super fixated on improving sound design and composition, and I think using external plugins like Vital (free but goated synth), really helped kick it up a notch.

The idea started after I realized a better way of making nice sounding bass by using Saw waves instead of just Sine. Then the ideas just started steam rolling through. For the first time ever, I made proper chords haha ("That Summer" was just perfect triads lmao), for which I used chaos saws to give the song this screaming feel. 

After researching for a while on how to execute bass growls on vital (Frequency Modulation (FM)), I absolutely fell in love with it. Researching bass growls also led me into a rabbit hole which then led me into something I loved and didn't even know the name of; Neurobass. Sick name for a bass sound/genre btw.

Grasping Ableton Live now! Feels like the software is working for me now, instead of me working the software (quote stolen directly from "In the Mix" on youtube). Getting better at automations, but still tons of room for improvement.

Yes, some of the audio samples are from Blade Runner 2049, a movie I thoroughly enjoyed. Still learning a bit more music theory; definitely still having trouble composing, but it's getting there :)
