Interested in esoteric and religious texts, this comes across loud and clear in his stunning, ethereal E.P Andromeda, which at turns send shivers down your spine and expands your mind. Having released on the likes of Giallo Disco and Charlois, this is Alessandro’s first release on Slow Motion. These ecclesiastical synth workouts are sure to inspire clubbers and thinkers alike. Three years after his “Call the Doctor” EP, Luca “Curses” Venezia is back on Throne of Blood with “Tutto Nudo.” The digital only EP was written after a move to Berlin and is infused with the fetishist sleaze of his new home, cementing a transformation from the rockabilly influences of his past project DROP THE LIME into a drug chug more fitting with the dirtier corners of European clubs he now frequents.

This new Curses sound is on display in three original tracks. “Tutto Nudo” is a well-rounded number rooted in a simple yet heavy guitar hook and bassline, elevated by polished drums and synths. Italian horror film goes to the disco. Speaking of Italy, “Canini” is Luca’s nod to his roots, with a vocal performance in his ancestral tongue backed up by a cosmic chorus and percussions.
“This Is All A Dream” is the slowest of the three, a track for the beginning of the night or the end, depending on your personality. Its hypnotic chug would get an open mind going any time of day though.

Two remixes complete the EP: “Tutto Nudo” gets reworked by Timothy “Heretic” Clerkin, the always dapper Briton with a penchant for acid. Curses’s hook gets raved up with nothing but the dancefloor in mind. “Canini” gets flipped on its head by Australian musical shaman and co-founder of the Multi Culti imprint, Dreems. Channelling the vibes of a “beautiful men’s club”, he delivers his uniquely oddball version of 80’s electro funk. Breaks and bass and vocoders gather around a psychedelic drum circle, leaving you no choice but to join in.

1 Tutto Nudo

Sulk Magic has returned with it's third collection of left-field recordings. Taking a darker route, this multi-layered six-track EP showcases consistent levels of talent, while still retaining the labels hallmark eccentricity. With a rare foray from his prototype, Tronik Youth provides an infectious dark-to-dawn Italo track, to close this excellent collection! It also includes tracks by Tkuz, Adventures In Daydreams, Oli Warriner, Sigward and Iron Blu!

A new dawn lay awaiting beyond the hillside. As the sun began to rise in the distance the sky was illuminated a spectacular shade of pink and gold. The breeze blew freely between the trees as the night was banished for another day. This was the Hermanio age, a peaceful time with which little would suffer or perish and man was free. Nature was everything to the people of the lake, they watched eagerly in awe as God addressed the world for yet another day. 

Lawrence Le Doux delivers a stunning piece of well crafted house music on a collaborative release between Le Pacifique and Unref. The release is accompanied by remixes from Cosmo Knex, Innershades and Kassett, however it was the original which inspired our imagination.

No less trippy is ’Nights With Lorelai’, another heady mix of elusive melodies, acidic squelches, luminous textures and wordless chants that wouldn’t sound out of place on an album like Orbital’s classic ‘Brown’ album. 

Gemini Brothers are Bucharest based Ionut and Razvan Chiron. With releases on labels such as Skint, Night Noise, Nein Records and now Eskimo Recordings the pair’s unique take on house music has seen them become firm favourites of everyone from Andrew Weatherall to Tiga, Psychemagik to John Talabot.
