I know, it's been four months since I mixed a set, but heres the deal - 


I still know how to do it.
You start out on beatport, soundcloud, or whatever means of harvest music you use. You spend about a week wading through the sewers searching for diamonds amongst the turds, as I call it. I listened to something like 200 songs to make this playlist, and feel I got the best of 2013's UK Hardcore scene.

Hoodzie and Modulate are probably my two favorite producers at the moment, they use some great tools that give this decades sound of Hardcore a different feel than the previous generation, a feel that I am really growing to like.

Far as banggerz and floor fillers go, "Like a Drum" uses traditional tools and still throws the fuck down. Then "Apart of my Life" is probably the primse example of what I consider this decades sound, and is very impressive.

3 is probably my favorite song, only because it bangz, and is really, really catchy. 

Also, sorry, Eli, but I used a remix of Can't Hold Us. You know why, because even if it's a shitty mainstream single, it turns into great Hardcore. 

Speaking of mainstream singles, usually I try to keep things as fresh as possible, but I. Love. Ellie.
And her single with Madeon is absolutely amazing. It's not hardcore, but it is perfect, and I had to close with it. I don't think anyone is going to mind.


Anyway, I am sorry for taking so long to record this set. I have actually created 2 since my last post, but I didn't feel them worthy of making public.

To everyone who enjoys this style of music, I truely hope you enjoy this. Smash your floors, and know I love you.

The land of Japan has taught me a lot about myself already-

Recently, I have the pleasure of visting my first rave party here. The atmosphere and culture were different, but still the same general idea applied, go dance, make some friends, and have a good time.

Attending this event gave me a large surge of motivation in mixing this set. One of my major reasons for moving to Japan, in addition to learing the language, was my hope and confidence that I might become something here.

First and foremost, I make these recordings for myself. I find it more convenient to have all my favorite songs mixed together, then carring the original tracks on my iPod. Secondly, it is for promotional purposes, to help me find work here in Nihon. I believe the style of the music we love back home will really make an impact on my new friends.

Anyway, about the set: My boy Modulate comes back, throwing down hard, per usual. No Hoodzie this time, but Mod certainly makes up for his absence. 'Dirty Talk' is probably my favorite track in the set, based on lyrical content. I also wanted to close with Trap for this set, just for something a little different.

I had fun working on this, picked the tracks up yesterday afternoon, and worked on it nonstop until it was finalized at 4:30AM. The best sets always come out in the middle of the night.

I really hope you get a kick out of this, and maybe someday, you'll see me tearing down clubs in the beautiful country of Nihon.

Here is a set for any dimly let bedroom,

or blue skied afternoon. I've fallen in love with these tracks over the past two weeks. Something about them can lift your mind away, and give you a moment of tranquility apart from the troubles of being alive.

Rules of thumb: Saxophones are gold for any edm, Dnb especially. Inclosed is an array of classical jazz instruments - including pianos, electric guitars, flutes, and of course, drums. 

This is a set you'll be happy to have the next time work doesn't go as well as you'd liked, or you & your sweetie is tryin'a lay down for the night.

No matter when life gets you down, I just hope this'll pick ya back up.

I bought a copy of 'Ocean Blue' from beatport Friday before last, fell in love, and knew immediately it would be my closer. I didn't really have a choice, actually, because the producer decided to put some bullshit spoken monologue during the initial Build-Up, which kind of took the Hard out of my Core.

Lucky for us, the 2nd drop is like 8billion times better, and we don't need to bother with the first one. From there, the whole set was reverse engineered, finally settling on 'DaWreckErds' for a starter, a remix of an old classic. Promises/Fuck it Up would probably be my two favorites, and I love how they mash together. 

Anyway, this set really reminds me what I love about this genre. Lyrical themes such as romance, integrity, and the getting of the fuck up - all ideas I support and approve,

and I hope you do to <3 愛
