Why do they have to dismiss all I love 
As unrealistic or only a social construct

The nothingness could suffocate
In emptiness
With nothing to separate me from the walls

They'd say.  But I'd still be floating past those walls. Then I'd dash through the underbelly of the brick corridor and make it out, howling and prowling.
 
Peering over avoidance and conflict  
Is life crawling over 
Waddling cartoonishly 
In criss cross applesauce bent  
Twisted pretzel style  
Like a Picasso portrait 
And bright, sharp and saturated
 
I can see a vague, faint outline of what I haven't experienced yet
When I close my eyes and watch the lights projected on my eyelids
Not intimacy in blended colors like a chameleon, but as varied and rapidly unfolding as a kaleidoscope
