Solar Suite is part of a new local movement that is slowly garnering global attention. His productions are unique explorations of progressive and psychedelia that feels like sci-fi soundtracks written for the dancefloor. His recent three-track release on Helsinki’s Echocentric Recordings is a bona fide statement of an artist setting his own pace. After Solar Suite’s recent debut for us at React, we had to get him back for the event's next edition. To tie us over till then we are excited to host him for a rare DJ mix which will only strengthen his rising reputation.

Guy Contact is the alias of Perth-based producer and rising star Callum Chute.  Specialising in his own contemporary brand of hardware-focused progressive house, Guy Contact has been hard at work refining his sound since his EP ‘Liminal Space’ dropped on Butter Sessions nearing the end of 2019. The result is a unique and unquestionably cohesive sound palette of pulsating grooves, trance-like overtones and blissful pads - all wrapped up and raring to energise any dancefloor. Following a run of stand out 12” EPs on the likes of Coymix Ltd, Haws Music and Craigie Knowes, Guy Contact is also plotting a follow up release on Butter Sessions due by the end of the year. With quality output to boot in 2021, Guy Contact is commanding the attention of local and global audiences - evidenced also by recent and inspiring contributions to both esteemed Amsterdam based Oddysee mix series and home grown stalwart series Melbourne Deepcast. Pilotting the next installment of the Virtual Utopia series is Seven Hills Records (@seven-hills-records), a dual-cored unit residing right in the central processor of the UK, London. Whether it be their DJ sets, or their stellar lineup of releases as a label, these lot really know how to propel you into the future and past at the same time.

This hour long simulated audio-experience takes us from walking endless corridors of cold brushed steel; to wandering the metallic planes of a dusted-chrome retro-futurist world, somewhere on an outdated version of a open-world virtual reality, all whilst being seamlessly embedded with earthy, grounding, organic sub-frequencies that remind us we are still actually living beings.

Travelling through internet cables, with the squeaks and bleeps of passing electrons. Quantum delays and such speeds that cause blurred vision. Groove-infused electronic signals destined for a far alien reciever. All this combined with the immaculate taste and organic sound of Seven Hills makes this an hour of pure 5-star time-decoration. 

You've taken the right path.

No better time to finally bring in segment one of on a Ménage (@menagerecords) animix This time a continuous mix of their newest release, Backburners vol.2, released on their own label Ménage records. An incredible compilation of tunes that foray between deep house, tech & late night bassy bangers.

I feel a deep and real sense of pride towards Ménage and their continued evolution. They have clearly been integral to the growth of Animalia, but beyond that, watching them all continue to evolve as both friends and musicians has been so special and heartwarming... Let alone the fact they are probably Naarm's most down to earth, musically passionate, and talented people I know. 

They've recently been debuting their(impeccable)  live set locally, but watch out European summer for some very special live Ménage sets.

Animix Eighty: Ménage (Backburners Vol.2 )

Say hi to PJ.nm from Leipzig City and the world. We came across this talented fella when he and his friends threw an extremely cute underground rave in the Saxonian bushes. His mixing skills and musical marksmanship directly caught our eyes and feet. Now, many moons later, we are happy to welcome him to our Mix Series and what we present you to listen will hopefully please you as much as it does us.
