A very special treat for number seventy two. Presenting a live recording of DJ Camov's set at my favourite party in Naarm, Tech World, last month. Grant soundtracked the sunny February afternoon with a boss selection of the classiest house, tech house and prog records... 

Grant is a Melb deejay icon, having frequented clubs, raves and park parties for the last decade in a chameleon like fashion. He now resides in Copenhagen and also djs under his deep diving trance alias @goasis

So excited to share one this one, one of my favourite club sets as of late!

Animix Seventy Two: DJ Camov (Live @ Techworld)

Every now and then in life, something special comes around and you just have to treasure every second of it. Right now, that special something is Techworld. Whether you’ve heard the talk or seen the tatts, this special Sunday is the celebration of tech to end all celebrations of tech. Miscellania, 7am - 1am, with what has been an unceasing selection of Naarm, Eora & abroad's finest (deejays and attendees).

To celebrate such, we’ve snagged this incredible live recording from none other than brains trust Chaz, 1PM-4PM on the 13/3/22. A lovely guy and exquisitely talented deej, we hope you treasure every second of the best house/tech house, sliced up by broken beats and electro - right until the recorder couldn't take anymore.

Neurocrank Mix: Chaz Live @ Techworld (13/3/22)

@roza-terenzi has traversed continents, yet her sound as a producer is never quite of this world. Hailing from Australia and now based in Berlin, extensive touring and appearances at a host of electronic music’s most esteemed festivals and venues have only served to strengthen her skills as a producer, with releases on the likes of @dkmntl, @planeteuphorique, @kalaharioystercult, @buttersessions and her own @stepballchain somehow evoking both nostalgia and visions of the future through cosmic atmospherics and warm, alien grooves.

Likewise, her Patterns of Perception 95 is luminous, lush and vibrantly nostalgic: like a hazy, sun-bleached postcard from decades past, viewed very much in the here and now. Covering a lot of ground in terms of both tempo and energy - this mix floats effortlessly from downtempo to liquid DNB, from breaks to house and back again, showcasing her effervescent skill and versatility behind the decks. 
Featuring an array of forthcoming and unreleased material from friends, collaborators and Terenzi herself, the warmth in this uplifting selection stirs hope for the times ahead.

With less than a handful of releases under his belt, it’s hard to wrap your head around just how refined Hex Editor’s sound is. Debuting with the captivating ‘Tuesday’ on local label Psy-Section, Hex Editor has crafted his own luxurious brand of transcendental progressive house and trance. Hex Editor’s tracks encapsulate a sense of the light at the end of the tunnel - they glow with luscious immersive pads, near-funky basslines, carefully placed gated vocals and drip with all the finishing touches that elevate a good song to being great. Depth is expertly contrast to vibrant, soaring melodies which create an overall euphoric and joyus energy. Today, Hex Editor celebrates the release of his EP ‘Blush’ on London's GODDEZZ label, a beautifully packaged CD release featuring remixes from SUMORAI, Sakura Tsuruta, SEO JOHN and Omformer as well as a track coming out on Barcelona’s Nebulae. Hex Editor joined me as the first post-pandemic restrictions, in-person Passing Notes guest to join me at the new studios on April 1st 2022.

Live recording of Chaz's ( @charlie-yerondais ) set at the final Techworld party of the season in May of this year (Sydney/Eora edition).  Not only is he a resident of the notorious after-hours party, he also co-runs it alongside @sandpit_alias.

Charlie has always inspired me with his expansive record collection, and has really become known for a distinctive style. Groovy, banging tech and electro always blended with depth, class & ease. So happy to share this with everyone!
