Next up on Magnonic Signals we are pleased to welcome the silky skills of ReKaB aka UK stalwart James Baker. First appearing on Where We Met in 2019 followed by stellar releases on Móatún 7, Intellitronic Bubble and Fourier Transform, here he provides a superb 4 track EP that showcases his immense talent with his love for Detroit techno shining through.

To start us off we have the blissful deep of Finally Home (+) with swooning glassy eyed pads and a chunky SH bassline this deep electro burner really sets the scene. Next up Albear Wave (++) takes us into deep space territory, perfect for cruising just before planetary exploration. On the flip we begin with the stunningly beautiful Me and You (-) an intergalactic love song that will tug at the heart strings and provides that melancholic feeling we all long for, simply gorgeous. Last but by no means least the title track What Is Our Future (- -) It could be the perfect track for the sun-drenched sands of Ibiza one that would give goosebumps when dropped, an amazing way to round off the EP!

ReKaB is on top form here with all four tracks hitting the spot, a classy record from start to finish.

Let me tell you what, for this number 17 we have the first 10inch record that will get to the stores from Sakskøbing’s headquarters. What’s the material on this 10” let’s unravel together: On the A side we have an original production by Dan who goes by the moniker The Jaffa Kid. This hard-working producer has released and self-released an incredible body of work, which is for you to find out, so rather than reading this, go and check it out yourself, surely you will be impressed. We are very happy to welcome him to the label family with this dark acid tool sprinkled with doves chirping straight from the good old 90’s. 

The B side is taken for a spin by none other than UK’s holy grail Scott Featherstone who actively tours with his live set under Triform alias and has produced records under his other projects such as “Beyond A Void”, “Glorious Springtime” and “Lemmon Grass”. Strong recommendation to check it all out of course as its swarming with total & true heavy hitters. Here Scott has taken the original track to the different way and turned it into the freaky house number that bubbles the brains in the sweet manner that it does. To conclude the rambling, these handsome artists have brought the “Tacked on Acid” EP to life for all of us to Tack.

oneeyedman is the project by the Hungarian-based artist István Sándor, seeing with one eye the release “Eat Alone a Miso Soup” that is landing on the musical hub Sakskøbing. The record has been over a year in the making and has gathered the shape using the all-seeing eye we witness today. 

Four track EP starting with the first Samurai discipline imbued track using voice part from Masaki Kobayashi’s 1962 movie “Harakiri”. Explicit qualities of an anthem there which makes you want to whip out a katana and graciously waft it in the air. Following piece “Night Train Ride” will be perfect not just for the trains, but starting on foot and going as far as taking the space shuttle with its cumulative acidic qualities. The Sixth Life story has morphed its shape into the DJ friendly version it is today, that says it next to the tin with more drums than ever before and portraying a human multi life story with its picturesque patterns & elaborate frequencies. Closing up this chapter with the intricately vivid number “Moody Discoteq” which shiatsu’s the membranes of one’s big red-pinkish brain in a calm manner and concluding the story of this body of work. 

All tracks were produced by István and mixed by the man himself and Gregus Grema Márton using the ancient Japanese techniques, which cannot be taught but rather has to be unlocked with practice, clear spirit and of course major levels of discipline.

In the wake of a spread of releases Urulu arrives, the latest convert to the Kalahari Oyster Cult. "Transworld" is the American artist's first gift to the diety. The track physically jitters into life as broken beats and classic samples give rise to an elusive melody of spaced out synthlines and expansive arcs. Shapes are a central theme of the EP, like the exotic curves, playful percussion and full bodied bass of "Precinct 9." Urulu toys with assumed structures, nowhere is this more evident than in the bizarre and brilliant medley of bleeps, honks, squeaks and bold beats that make up "Groove Therapy." Trippy samples introduce "Precinct 9 (Extremix)," a final psychedelic trip of Technicolor trance to bring the listener back from a journey known as Ex-Terrestrial.

London imprint Drifted Records bring the heat with their second solo output in the catalogue. DR002 - Spirals EP, written by Dublin born, Berlin based wiz ‘New Members’, displays a distinct voyage of the beloved 90s era with a modern innovation.

Side A showcases the heavy, rolling drum patterns, airy dub chords and cleverly placed hats that you wanna’ be hearing at 4am on a packed dance floor, with both ‘Spirals’ and ‘Mythos’.

Flipping the record gives us something else entirely. B1 offers a silky, screw-faced stomper ‘No Mind’, which features samples from the great Alan Watts. Followed by a timeless edition to round off this latest instalment, B2 gifts us a gorgeous and percussive Jungle number entitled ‘Secrets’.
