Alex Jones & Chris Spero, known to Hotflush followers as Dense & Pika, are entering the stage of another quality label – Hypercolour – with a 4-track Lynn EP, released at the end of this month.

UK’s techno duo delivers the familiar all-consuming monster vibe on the EP, which is the only way they seem to operate together. The track we’re proudly premiering today has the notes of 80′s mechanical sound, gently nods to Moderat’s “Bad Kingdom” and takes it further into the land of vintage synths, fog machine reverbs, and melodic industrial sounds.

Although Andreas Quiring and Frederik Laaser, better known as The Reason Y, are already main stays in the Berlin scene, it's our great pleasure to present them to the world as the most recent additions to the Second State roster with their stunning debut EP; 'Hide and Seek'.

Over the course of three superb tracks we dive deep into the heart of Planet TRY and explore a world ripe with stunning colors, rich textures and an abundance of life. It begins with the aptly named title track 'Hide and Seek' which takes place somewhere in a dark cavernous grotto as a light flickers in the distance. As you move closer the light grows brighter but without warning quickly vanishes leaving you lost and wondering. The light flickers again and the chase continues only to end the same way it began again and again.

If 'Hide and Seek' is a game in the dark depths than the next track 'Sumatra' is a ride through the rain soaked jungle under the full moon. While faint sounds of howls and mating calls echo between mud soaked footsteps, drops of liquid bounce off your skin creating an orchestra of organic enlightenment.

The final experience on Planet The Reason Y is 'SXF' and it's a farewell to the world just discovered. Glimmers of shape and color slowly come together to reveal the bigger picture; a floating gem amidst the backdrop of infinite space as the new world is departed. As speed increases and distance grows the once overwhelming new world new turns to a tiny pebble and slowly retreats into the pitch black leaving only the warm ambience brought on by new journeys. 
In the words of Hunter S. Thompson: "Buy the ticket, take the ride." and experience life on the planet of The Reason Y.

The extended intro of “Awaken” builds ambient tension, before the percussion of “Extreme” lifts the intensity with its deep hypnotics. “Returning To Here” closes off the EP with hints of euphoria that cut through its ominous atmosphere underpinned by a thumping kick drum.

Sawf, Perc Trax’s most mysterious artist returns to the label he calls home after EP’s for Modal Analysis, Audio Assault and M-Rec. This is his first new material for Perc Trax since his well received album ‘Flaws’ in 2011 and shows him introducing new influences to his trademark grinding, industrial sound.

First up is title track Menete, built around a 16th note synth line that recalls everything from classic EBM to more modern synth-led techno such as the recent Sleeparchive EP on Tresor.  Closing the a-side is Toolio, a far too modest title for a track that is far from a disposable techno tool.  An expert exercise in building percussion, this is closest to the sound people know from Sawf, but the best example of it yet.

Opening up the b-side is a remix from Yuji Kondo; know best for his work under both his own name and as half of Steven Porter on Semantica. The remix is everything you’d expect from Yuji. A wall of broken-beat noise topped off by cut up vocals samples and a fluid, ever-changing arrangement. Closing the 12” is ‘Diin’. A deeper, almost house-like cut from Sawf, building on a probing bass guitar line, proving he can do subtle and atmospheric as well as he does tough and confrontational.

Hailing from Tuscany, Marco Faraone has risen to become one of Italy’s leading house and techno artists over the last fifteen years. His 2020 was impressive with very strong releases on many established house and techno labels like Rekids, Drumcode, Defected with almost 30 original tracks released last year, UNCAGE's label founder is back with a new single "Forever Be", including two outstanding remixes by Anfisa Letyago and Flug!

Having made numerous appearances on Rekids including ‘No Filter’, his debut album released in 2020, Marco Faraone has become a core artist on Matt Edwards’s label when not releasing on his very own imprint, with a unique ability to create different musical shades in between house and techno. Reflecting on an amazingly creative 2020, at the start of this year Marco set a new creative path for his future, writing new music that receives regular support from many of the most important artists in the scene.

Loose Records enters the field once again with an exceptional product, in fact, the historical founder Rino Cerrone throws in a producer of our local school, Mars Bill, who is already known for his earlier works on labels such as MKT, Driving Forces, Respekt and Loose Records itself.
Mars Bill therefore gives birth to a four-tracks project composed by two Original Mix and two Remix by Kalden Bess and the duo On / Off. The first one is already a recognized producer in the music scene thanks to his numerous projects released by labels such as Analytic Trail, Blindspot, 1605, MB Elektronics and many others. The Dutch duo On / Off is very well known on the Neapolitan scene for having recorded a very successful EP with Analytic Trail, as well as famous in Europe for their previous works on labels such as 8 Sided Dice, Gem Records, Driving Forces and more.
“Obey” is a pure underground style track, where properly fit percussions intersect on a deep drum and bass lines envelop the frantic rhythm of the beat-in pure Techno style.
Kalden Bess remixes “Obey” with a really excellent remake, built in an articulate way where the Synth sweeps on circling bass and the track is sped up by an upbeat Hi Hats session, all finished by the dark touch of the remixer.
“Panic Room” is the second original mix of the EP, consisting of fluid sounds and rhythmic groovy, where low frequencies aggressively affect the beat. The drum is deep and wide at the same time, Technoid sounds take over and everything explodes in a never-ending crescendo of effects and textbook tricks.
On / Off remix “Panic Room” keeping the track always at the top of its performance, sinuous shades form a spatial beat. An elastic drum and an overwhelming bass compose a fully inserted rhythmic, where the Synth echoes in the air dispersing Techno energy at the highest levels.
Loose has scored another big hit; avant-garde sounds and sublime producers!!
