This is a piece for Concert Band. The concept is that I have two ideas that constantly come back.

Ron Ron Doe

This orchestra piece sounds like the background to your favorite spy movie. While listening, pretend you are the hitman who is being informed on your mission. Pay close attention to what is said, it is the only time you get to hear the music.

Destroy After Hearing - Demo

This piece is about Cain's sacrifice to God from the story of Cain and Abel. We are told that Cain's heart was corrupted, but we do not know to what degree. In my opinion, he was not completely corrupted until the Devil convinced Cain to murder his brother Abel. This piece depicts Cain's partially corrupted heart.

To show the corruption, I edited the samples to create a spectrum of recognizability. Try to hear the corrupted sounds as they range from glitchy to pitch shifted, from muted to completely unrecognizable. The samples were taken from a number of objects like door handles, markers and erasers, the mouth, projector and screen, a wooden desk, a metal water bottle, and keys.

This is the abridged version of Dancing Lines. This piece was written for cellist Patricia Burton. This was written with her collaboration at Ball State University in January and February 2022. I extend my gratitude towards her expert opinion as she helped me perfect the difficulty and create a piece designed specifically for cello.

Program Note: Dancing Lines is about conveying a dance-like pulse through groupings of
two and three eighth-notes. The idea was to create this pulse that goes throughout the whole piece, never dying out or slowing down. There are moments where the intensity will deescalate, but the pulses will remain in the same tempo. The middle section takes the melody presented at the beginning and scrambles it up, using it to create harmony from combining the different lines, or turning the line on its side. This is what inspired the name: Dancing Lines

Dancing Lines - Abridged (Live)

This composition was composed for Jessica Raposo and Mihoko Watanabe. Their request was for a composition that utilizes multiple flutes and piano. This piece incorporates alto flute, regular flute, and piccolo for both flutists. to incorporate all three types of flutes, I had the idea for a constantly ascending composition. This reminded me of the Greek Myth about Sisyphus, hence the name.

Navigating the Way traces the emergence and expansion of the early Christian communities through a spatialized, data-driven lens. Derived from historical records of Paul’s journeys, this movement transforms the geographic spread of the early church into a sonic cartography. The “choir of churches” maps the growth of these communities city by city, revealing patterns of connection, distance, and momentum. 
Events within the narrative, moments of conflict, angry crowds, miracles, and Paul's sermons, appear as carefully curated samples woven into the foreground. They function as symbolic markers rather than literal illustrations, allowing listeners to interpret each occurrence as either stabilizing or destabilizing, depending on its context within the unfolding map. This symbolic layer not only gives the audience the feeling of what his travels through Acts felt like proportionally, but also offers the composer's commentary on the adventure.

This piece is specifically designed to portray the feeling of impatience waiting for my wedding day. This is my favorite piece from my wedding collection for Brass Quintet. Each of the movements represented a different emotion I felt during the months leading up to my wedding day.
