Lost Records have called upon newcomer PAWSA to showcase his talents on the label’s third release.

The title track “Pilot” delivers a dose of straight up jacking grooves with infectious old school drums, precise hi-hats and growling basslines. “Pilot” introduces PAWSA’s slick productions setting the stage perfectly for the second track on the EP “The Narcissist”.

Built on similar foundations to “Pilot”, “The Narcissist” kicks off with a more stripped back soundscape, playing, sinister vocals against a low slung bass line. 
The final track of the EP “Pretty Good Debbie” is a more laid back affair the swinging hi-hats pushing the track through to a mean build up and drop.

To round off the EP the icing on the cake is a remix of “Pretty Good Debbie” from Italian legends Supernova. After a blistering 2013, Supernova bring their dark & dubby twist to the table, with key features of the original in tact cementing them into a heavier groove whilst playing off atmospheric build ups and break downs.

After an impressive late morning closing set at dirtybird’s latest Watergate party in Berlin, Sacha Robotti, made his way to Switzerland to play at Nordstern. Hooking up with an equally exhausted Swiss producer, "Look Like" on arrival, the tired and wired duo shared thoughts over a heady green tea session. Realizing they shared a deep love for bass, they made a pact: to write a collaborative EP that would score the highest of marks from dirtybird big dog Claude VonStroke.

These two slick-back groove attacks are the end result...  “Loca Lola” is a one-way ticket to the most mischievous of party districts where an array of manipulated vocal samples bounce avidly on a bed of chop-slapping beats. Complete with head-popping stabs, cheeky wolf whistles and a carnal carnival shriek, it’s left VonStroke‘s floors floundering the world over on every roadtest. “Dropout”, meanwhile, tunes into a darker, booty-busting techfunk groove where cut-throat vocal stabs punctuate the unrelenting bassline and chest-stamping kicks. Heads down, please; this one shifts in a serious way.

What started as a comedown has turned into a fire-up.  Collab creations don’t come any better than this. Something tells us Robotti and Look Like will be locking horns again the future.

Inspired by the underground clubs and parties up north where proper house music played all night, Leigh D Oliver is a UK based musician, producer, DJ and label owner.
Hailing from the county of Yorkshire in the Northern part of the UK, Leigh D Oliver grew up surrounded by music and began his love affair with vinyl when he discovered a batch of discarded 7''s from the local pub jukebox. Like any fine lad growing up in the early 90's, his varied tastes ranged from Hip Hop, Rave, Heavy Metal and even Indie Rock. After playing guitar in bands throughout his teens,it wasn't until the late nineties that he experienced his first taste of 'proper' house music at Back To Basics in Leeds. This inspired Leigh to expand his repertoire by purchasing a pair of decks, accumulating an extensive vinyl collection and cobbling together a crude studio.
Today, Leigh fortunately has a much improved recording setup, is still an avid record collector and his productions continue to be inspired by the underground clubs and parties up North where 'proper' house music reigns supreme. Leigh also runs Definite Ridge Recordings which he uses solely for his own music. His other recent releases can be found on Inner City Records, Freche Fruchte and now the esteemed Chicago imprint Large Music.
