From the bubbling psych-rock hotbed of Cincinnati Ohio comes General Baxter, solo project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Will Popiel. Flavors of bands like CAN, All Them Witches, and even King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard simmer with heady samples, odd structures, and unconventional recording approaches to cook up something new. The emerging tunes are moody, dizzying, psych-rock bops that will have your head swaying. General Baxter's 2019 debut EP Red Delicious, released 4/20/19, is an instrumental collection that captures Popiel's stream-of-consciousness during nearly a 3 year period where he was learning instruments an experimenting with ideas and sounds. This project is merely a jumping-off point for Popiel, as he leaps into his next endeavors with newfound levels of confidence, inspiration, and ability.
