Signals…. a function that conveys information about behaviour or attributes of communication as a current, voltage, or electromagnetic waves.

WOW!!! Was the response to Uone’s previous release Sprout Music in September 2014 staying at number one on the minimal techno charts for 12 weeks. Next up Uone offers another killer single, Alien Signal. A killah 3 track EP featuring original plus stunning remixes from Brazil young gun Gabriel Boni & Swiss progressive-tech guru Khainz. The original track takes the listener on windy melodic ride with subtle touches of organic percussion & trippy vocals, a typical journey of what you would expect from a Sprout Music original. Sao Paulo native Boni brings a out a galactic deep house version focusing on detuned sounds and a twirling arrangement. Finishing off is Khainz who pumps up the tempo a makes for an outdoor techno stormer.

8th May sees prestigious DJ/producer UMEK release his first single on POPOF’s revered FORM Music imprint, entitled ‘Shadow Tactics’ - featuring remixes from label boss POPOF himself, as well as Wow! Recordings’ head honcho, Mar-T.  

Since his first release in 1993, UMEK has established himself as one of Slovenia’s finest electronic exports, boasting a back-catalogue of projects that most DJs would dream of, releasing on labels such as Toolroom, Tronic, Intec Digital, his very own 1605 plus many more, constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of Dance music throughout his career.

The Slovenian kicks the release off with the title-named track, ‘Shadow Tactics’, a pounding Techno come Drum and Bass workout that combines breakbeat elements with an uncompromising four-to-the-floor rhythm packed with sharp synths and other industrial effects.

POPOF’s edit of ‘Shadow Tactics’ follows on, seeing the Parisian add a number of squelching synths patterns, omitting the Drum and Bass elements for a headstrong six-minute Techno track.

Closing this excellent three-track package is Mar-T’s remix of ‘Shadow Tactics’, transforming the track into a pulsating Tech-House offering packed with tight drums and crisp percussive elements. 

‘Shadow Tactics’ (Inc. POPOF & Mar-T remixes) is available via Beatport on 8th May and everywhere else two weeks later.
