Local Suicide are back with the second of four remix EPs for their debut album, 'Eros Anikate', each named after an ancient Greek god. The Greco-German DJ and Producer couple, known for their wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco, have been driving live audiences into a frenzy across the globe with captivating performances and live sets. Their propulsive grooves have earned them the title of key figures in the up-rising dark disco scene, as well as overwhelming support from the music press worldwide for their 13 EP releases to date. Their debut LP, 'Eros Anikate', is the next step on their journey to a worldwide cobra wave and techno-disco takeover and includes selected vocal features and collaborations from Lena Platonos, Curses, Theus Mago, Kalipo, Sissi Rada and more. 'Eros Anikate - Artemis Remixes' is a 6-track EP featuring remixes for ‚Moustache' w/ Skelesys by You Man, 'Jam Bounce Release‘ w/ Theus Mago by Silicon Soul, 'Like Follow Subscribe‘ feat. Hard Ton by Biesmans, 'Cobra Wave‘ w/ Kalipo by AFFKT and 'Eros Anikate‘ feat. Lena Platonos by Boys Shorts. We are premiering the final remix for the EP that comes from Boys' Shorts for 'Eros Anikate' feat. Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos. The Greek DJ and producer duo had been friends for over a decade and spent endless hours on the decks together DJing around Greece and Europe before deciding to form their project and share their love for electronic music. Their music is a blend of everything they mix in their DJ sets, from disco to breaks, slow techno to acid, with the sole aim of making people dance. Having previously released their hit ‘New Era’ EP via the Iptamenos Discos imprint, the duo return for their remix of 'Eros Anikate feat. Lena Platonos', speeding up the track and adding driving synth sequences and groovy rhythms for a fun and vibrant remix.

Cosmo Vitelli presents MEDHEAD REMIXES a digital-only LP featuring remixes from his third album MEDHEAD, released on I’m a Cliché in 2022, which included five tracks created in collaboration with Dutch artist Truus de Groot.
 
Featuring 8 tracks plus an instrumental version, its release a year after MEDHEAD is an opportunity to close this chapter before the next one begins. It is also a reminder of the French producer’s love for reinterpretation, by playfully looking back on the album rather than being revisiting exhaustively.
 
Indeed, in addition to 2 remixes by Cosmo Vitelli himself, he asked producers he appreciates to pick a track of their own choice to remix, without obsessing on necessarily giving them a club dimension. His guests ended up exploring several atmospheres, with a varying ratio between ethereal and more dance-focused moods, sometimes combining both. 

It is always with excitement that Cosmo Vitelli remixes his tracks. Down The Hatch is given a “boogie dub” treatment, thanks to bubbling analog synths and old school drum machines, it is a catchy and funky exercise in less is more production. His remix of How Is It To Be You is an elegant exploration of disco-adjacent atmospheres and arrangements. It does a lot with just a handful of elements and functions as a kind of disco dub, simple from a distance and full of detail when closely listened to.

Andrei Rusu is one half of Romanian duo Khidja. His remixes of How Is It To Be You (one vocal version and one instrumental) are dancefloor-focused cuts, with a catchy vibe in part indebted to 80’s dance genres. Underneath the shiny veneer, ominous synths on the verge of dissonance hint at something darker, like the soundtrack of a forgotten giallo.
A long-time friend of Cosmo’s and a producer recognized for his mind-melting output that spans many genres, Krikor remixes 7 Foot Clown In My Bed. The remix sees Krikor in top dub form, with a 10-ton heavy beat, slow, and hallucinogenic. It’s impossible not to sway in slow motion while playing it.

Krokakai came to Cosmo’s attention following his debut release on Glasgow’s Insible, Inc. His version of Trichophilia blends a subdued post-punk approach with more modern production techniques. The result is ear catching and introspective, almost cinematic at times, while remaining danceable.



Up-and-coming producer DJ F16 Falcon, who released a handful of EPs on Notte Brigante and Association Fatale, revisits Down The Hatch. With a plodding, shuffled rhythm and a leftfield, almost IDM feel, this downtempo remix takes the track into a new, forward-thinking dimension.

Dali Muru & The Polyphonic Swarm, a project led by Enir Da, is behind one of Cosmo’s favourite album of 2022. So it was natural for him to ask the producer to contribute to this release, and he picked Patient Zero. Dub-infused, and ethereal but also focused on movement, this half-step version is captivating.

Froid Dub is a duo made up of Stéphane Bodin & François Marché, who previously recorded music together as Bosco at the turn of the century. For their first remix under this name, they deliver a langourously understated take on Just Like His Dad that strips the tune to its bare elements, for a dub as icy as they come.

Cosmo Vitelli will renew his collaboration with Truss de Groot in 2023 for a full album, and this year will also mark the return of his Bot’Ox duo with a new release.

Evocative and spooky contemporary prog. Mekine U Teksi has absolutely nailed it to fetishist levels. It sounds like the synths were certainly the only thing keeping the castle warm the night this was recorded.
The whole record is made even more unnerving by the fact that the 4th track doesn't exist... scary!

After releases on labels like Permanent Vacation, HE.SHE.THEY, Cormac’s Polari Records or Future Disco, after remixes for Alison Goldfrapp, Yuksek w/ Polo & Pan, Kasper Bjørke, Boy George or Casey Spooner (Fischerspooner), we're more than proud to add them to our LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON family circle! 
The duo consisting of Vangelis (formerly of LAGASTA aka »Last Gas Station«) and electronic recording artist Tareq are purveyors of the fine art of including a little bit of everything in their DJ sets - and in their productions: Be it house or slow techno, be it disco or acid - their main goal is to »make people dance!«. With this new 3-track release they definitely won't take no prisoners.
And what a way to start with title track »On The High Line«: A fantastic Euro-Wave-Disco-type of tune featuring the über-cool spoken word voice of DJ City. Think early to mid 80ies Berlin (or London … or any other European city around that time), think of neon lights, think of ice cold nights and hot 'n' sweaty clubs - yes, we know, it sounds like a cliché … but hell yeah, this tune is a CHOON. And anybody who doesn't move his behinds to it must surely be dead.
Let's go to our »Dark Room Rendez-Vous« next. The boys stay instrumental for this one - maybe because there's no need to talk in a dark room … This dark room though really ain't too dark at all. It shines bright with light positive synth lines and a steady uplifting beat. It might even sound more like a visit to your local sauna when you're sitting in that bubbly whirlpool for relaxation purposes. Yet also: No prisoners taken here.
»All Over« starts with hard synth stabs, followed by a beautiful electro beat until the 4-to-the-floor bass drum hits hard - very hard. Here too we find these uplifting positive synthesizer melodies the boys so easily manage put in their productions. And isn't a huge portion of positivity not something we need these days? Come on! We need it ALL OVER!
Boys’ Shorts toured around Europe over the last years, playing in world renowned venues such as Berghain/Panorama bar and London’s E1, opened for Hot Chip and will hopefully play at Robert Johnson very soon. In the meantime let's put on our shorts and go for a walk on the high line - or go to the dark room …
