For the very first time, we travel to the Austrian capital to welcome on board the one and only Xenia Nanou a.k.a. POLYXENE (@xenianogravity). A Greek artist based in Vienna who started out in the music universe as a sound engineer and soon became a thorough digger in her early years, was part of the platform @femdex, has her own monthly show on Movement Radio, and, all in all, has paved her way in the electronic scene evolving into one of the best electro DJ’s in this day and age. Her sets are a powerful blend of electro, IDM, and breaks skilfully combined which might escalate into acid or even techno making dancers go completely crazy. And this podcast is no exception. Later on, he went on to promote his own event across Europe, allowing him to continue with his passion: play and collect electronic music. Episode 19 is dedicated to Sci Fi Electro series, where each artist has created a 15 minute track per side (2 tracks in total), taking you from pure electro tracks to very experimental compositions, sounds and atmospheres. The series is a collection of seven releases inspired by the following films created in the 20th century: THX 1138, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron. 
You will listen interpretations inspired by movies: THX 1138 (by Transpac) and Blade Runner (by Scape One). This is our tribute as well to the talented Greek electronic music artist - Vangelis (RIP), who has written music for Blade Runner movie. Maltese music artist Volph has graced the decks for the last 20 years. It all started as a duo under the A.I. alias, playing mostly old school electro and anything in between.

Which artists influenced you the most? 
 
- Countless artists, I remember myself at age 5 jumping on my bed, singing “we are the robots”, so definitely Kraftwerk. As a teenager I grew up in the early nineties, had a big crush on the Prodigy, Altern 8, and all the BreakBeat\Rave scene that came from England back then. 
I decided to start DJing after listening to some legendary DJs like Dave Clarck, Ben Sims, Jeff Mills, DJ Bone, and my dear friend Ori Lichtick. They all have different styles, and techniques, but one thing in common is that they all create new music on the fly while they mix, not just playing the tracks one after another. 
 
What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
 
- Most important for me these days is to play in parties, there is nothing like people vibe in a good party. Lately been working on my DJ mix series, I try to publish a new mix every month. 
There is also Avaq, which is a very special project that consists of a drummer, and a guitarist that play in a very unique style, the music they produce is passed directly through a mixer controlled by me, and I color it with effects, and loops, all three of us got a lot of influence from the clubs/rave scene, from Techno, Electronic music, and post punk. 
Avaq music is dance flour oriented, wild, intense, with a consistent rolling beat. 
We released a new single last week

And for the next year we plan to continue performing as much as we can in Clubs/Parties, and Festivals. 
 
Which artists/labels are more relevant to you now? 
 
- In the past years I fell in love with Electro music, discovered a whole lot of awesome new producers, labels, and stellar sounds. In a nutshell, really like The Exaltics, Carl Finlow, Luxus Varta, Krypton 81, Maelstrom, Zeta Reticula, DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, of course Drexcya, and Dopplereffekt, AUX88, and many, many others. 
Labels: Cultivated Electronics, CPU, Bass Agenda, Klakson, Mechatronica, and many others. 
Also a big fan of the “Dark Science Electro” podcast, I like to listen to it while I drive at night. 
 
What inspires you to create music now? 
 
- In the past 4 years I had two incidents that shook my entire world. 
Lost my significant other (my love) after 17 years together, then got sick with Leukemia, which nearly made me meet my ancestors. 
That's when I truly discovered the healing power of music, it also keeps my sanity, so for me music is life. 
There is also the element of leaving something behind after we go, because life is fragile.
