Following his ‘Cold Strings’ EP back in May earlier this year, German producer Alex Breitling returns to Purified Records with his latest offering ‘Skyfall’. Devising a melodic soundscape with undulating synth patterns across deep bass, his latest cut embodies his euphoric and powerful musical identity. 

The ‘Skyfall’ artwork showcases an image of a hammerhead shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Hammerhead sharks are known for their distinctive, hammer-shaped heads, which give them an advantage in maneuverability and detecting prey through specialized sensory organs. These adaptations make them highly effective hunters of stingrays, fish, and other sharks. Unfortunately, many hammerhead species are endangered due to overfishing for their fins, habitat destruction, and bycatch, making conservation efforts crucial to their survival. Pressure is one of those timeless songs that defines an era, the peak of the EDM wave in America and a cornerstone of our early sets in college back before Local Dialect even existed.

While searching for inspiration one day we listened to Pressure for the first time in a while, and all those memories came flooding back. Dropping it to a sweaty pulsating dance floor that functioned as a dining hall in the daytime. Listening to it on broken speakers with our crew at 4am when we should've been studying. Battling a crowd for footing while Alesso played it at Ezoo in 2013.

When we got down to writing with Nadia Ali's vocals, the song came together effortlessly, one of those magical moments where the music seems to write itself.

Since then we've been tweaking and testing it at almost every one of our shows and we're so excited to finally share it with you!

Originally from Paris, Kalsx spent his youth learning violin and music theory in a conservatoire. In fond of science and artificial intelligence, he soon discovers a new interest for electronic music, which he appreciates both the abstract aspect and the countless possibilities it offers.

As time goes by, he is progressively driven by a strong desire to create and starts writing his first compositions at the age of 22. Inspired by several movements derived from techno music and his classical background, Kalsx develops a deep and eminently melodic style with pronounced psychological patterns. His music is the result of a work of introspection, between dreams and illusions.
