@montyluke's ‘Nightdubbing (Part 2)’ lands on Rekids this February.

Kicking oﬀ Rekids’ January, Monty Luke’s ‘Nightdubbing (Part 1)’ won the support of Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Fred P and many more. Radio Slave’s esteemed label now readies itself for part two, starting with ‘Supernova’, a slow-burning groover shot through with whirly synths and deep space textures, broken up by retro vocal samples. ‘Starstorms’ continues to explore the deepest reaches of the unknown, picking up pace via shaker rhythms, driving bass, and raw foot-on-the-pedal pads.

Up next is Monty Luke’s ‘New World / Old Future’, in which scratch-like drums, dubbed-out hits and a rolling rhythm are all in perfect order before the psychedelic ‘Avantgarde Dancehall’ introduces wonky liquid sonics and intricate melodies over a steady beat. Closing this eclectic oﬀering, ‘Travelling ‘Round The Sun’ features drums rooted in dub alongside spoken word poetry, rounding oﬀ a release that is storytelling at its very best.

Monty Luke spent ten formative years in Detroit, where the city's unique musical spirit inﬂuenced him immensely. He has since distilled this experience into the music he has put out on labels like Rekids, Planet-E, Hypercolour, and his own Black Catalogue. His raw, dub-infused sound comes with plenty of futuristic designs, with this second part of ‘Nightdubbing’ continuing to push the boundaries of his music.

1. How did your journey into music begin?

-  My musical journey began in childhood, rooted in classical music. Initially, I delved into playing the piano and organ, drawn deeply by my fascination with bass tones, which particularly influenced my choice of the organ. My aspiration was to pursue a career in classical music

2. What kind of music did you grow up listening to?

-  I listened a lot to acoustic music when I grew up. My exploration led me to the discovery of Blues, Jazz and Boogie Woogie. Especially Boogie Woogie Piano, an American dance music genre that captivated me with its rhythmic groove. My interest evolved further when I stumbled upon Electronic music, finding myself enchanted by its darker, groovy, and underground vibes 
3. How did you come up with the sound that appeals to you now? (How have your sound preferences changed over the years)

-  My initial encounter with electronic music was through its more mainstream aspects, including genres like Drum and Bass and EDM. Gradually, my taste evolved towards Techno, initially aligning with well-known and mainstream labels such as Drumcode. However, over time, my preferences shifted further, leading me towards the Detroit Techno scene. My current sound is an amalgamation of influences from top minimal Techno artists globally, characterized by its clean and groovy essence. Upon relocating to Berlin, I found my unique sound, gravitating towards a preference for fast-paced, minimalistic, and layered techno

4. Achievements (radio broadcasts/performances in institutions)

-  I haven't pursued DJ'ing with the goal of accumulating achievements, as it's always been more of a hobby to me than a professional endeavor. Nonetheless, one of my unreleased tracks gained a bit of spotlight by being featured on Freddy K's Krzkrzkzr podcast. Additionally, through EXCITE, I've had the opportunity to perform a few gigs at VOID Club in Berlin. I've also contributed a set to the WNTR Podcast

5. Are you currently doing anything related to musical culture? (your community/parties/studio/or maybe work in a vinyl store for example)

-  Together with a group of friends, I'm part of a collective that has organized several outdoor parties using our sound system. We're currently making plans to host parties in a club setting next

Severn Electronics presents SE003 - "7XINS - Cobalt Made Dreams Of Avarice."

"Cobalt Made Dreams Of Avarice" is the first release for 2024. The EP is digital only and features 2 original tracks from 7XINS and a remix from the hard hitting duo “Mist Gasp”.

This 2-track EP demonstrates a surrealist hypnotic side of 7XINS mind, offering listeners into a more undulating, sub heavy dreamscape. Pulsating baselines intertwine with open atmospheres, creating a sonic landscape that is both ethereal and immersive. These tracks are characterised by minimal synth work in the mid-range with clear emphasis on low end and minimal percussion, a clear departure from his conventional sound creating a perfect balance between dance floor energy and introspective immersion, perfect those deeper moments.

Track 3 is a remix of "7XINS - Western Prospects" provided by heavy hitting duo Mist Gasp. Mist Gasp have worked hard over the years which has been paying off well with recent releases on Bas Mooy’s mighty MORD records, SOMA and various other platforms. Consistency has been key for these guys everything they touch seems to scream peak time driving techno with heavy bottom...

SE003 - 7XINS - Cobalt Made Dreams Of Avarice [EP]

Sinz, DJ, event promoter, and co-founder of Son Letal. She began her journey in the world of electronic music with the Techno Body Music collective called Drogdanzing in 2016, leaving her mark as a pioneer in the local underground scene.

In her beginnings, she materialized her pseudonym Sinz with mixes influenced by the early stages of EBM, industrial, and minimal wave genres but evolved her sound by adding more dynamism with techno bases, a "postmodern" EBM, and energetic elements of electro, industrial techno, and dark disco. 
Sinz has shared the stage with artists from the scene such as Schwefelgelb, Crystal Geometry, Andi Harriman, Common Poetry, Hector Oak, among others.
At the same time, she works on her concept Lucretia Dose, which is a proposal inspired by the classic rave scene loaded with fresh and energetic techno.

Join us on a journey through space and time with the debut album of Jeremiah Soft, now returning to Dalmata Daniel. He made the album between November 2021 and June 2022, a time during which he got closer to nature, long walks, and existing in forests in general. Through 9 tracks and 60 minutes, we can wander around atmospheric universes, walk up the hills and down the paths of the mind of the artist.

Throughout the whole album, a dichotomy is created by the soft, acoustic sounding melodies and the quick, abruptly changing, metallic drum patterns. Just like the wilderness, it becomes a balanced system of tranquil harmony and tense alertness.
Side B rushes into an 11 minute heavy-hitter, ‘PNW’, packed with action and amen break.
