Next up this summer on Kaluki Musik, we welcome back a label favourite in the form of Manchester based DJ and producer, Joseph Edmund, who returns to the label with his brand new three track 'Wild Thing' EP. Having previously been recognised as one to watch by the likes of Solardo and Mark Jenkyns, Joseph Edmund has been a firm favourite of ours for a while and with recent success on labels including Hot Creations, Nothing Else Matters, Saved, elrow, Sola, and support flooding in from AAA DJ's Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Latmun and Detlef we are very pleased to welcome him back to the Kaluki family with this latest release. The 'Wild Thing' EP brings the energy, infusing rhythmic hats, glitchy synths, rumbling low-end, echoing snares, rave inspired b-lines, chopped hypnotic vocal hits and chunky drums taking you straight to the heart of the dancefloor.

Joseph Edmund - Everyday Press

The next artist to feature on Black Seven Music is none other than rising Venezuelan talent Mrodriguez, with his impressive new EP - Zapunaru.

Miguelangel Rodriguez, known artistically as Mrodriguez, is a young South American DJ/Producer starting to attract attention and signings from labels across the globe. Joining him, with a stellar remix, are UK duo & Youth Culture label bosses, BLND.

‘Zapunaru’ opens the release with a bumpy beat and a subtle Latin influence. Punchy drum work and layers of percussive elements create a bouncing groove with plenty of movement, broken out by ominous melodic bridges. Creative fills, synth stabs & vox chops add the cherry on the cake for this tribal-tinged heater.

BLND are next, with their UK Deep Tech spin on the title track, ‘Zapunaru’. A pulsating spin on the original with a quirky and glitch-heavy persona, a sound championed by Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping and many other big-hitters. This one is especially gritty and to incredible effect.

Mrodriguez closes with ‘Show Me’, taking things subterranean with loads of swing and gusto. Stripped back but still very much energetic, the focus is on crisp percussive elements that cleverly also add tone alongside the other subtle melodic factors in the mix. A sultry female vocal brings it all together, completing a loose and groovy late-night cut.

House Keepers Records ends another fine year with a second superb Various Artists compilation. Don’t Forget To Go Home features eight bustling tracks of club-ready house from label regulars and newer associates such as Rob Stillekens, Diego Lima, and Fenky.

Florida based House Keepers Records hails from Orlando but has now built a global reputation. As well as throwing popular block parties, the label also brings something fresh to the US scene through its carefully curated radio shows and releases. The team behind it has a forward-thinking vision that has
injected real innovation, not least with March's essential 12 track collection, Bad Boyz.

Slugg featured on that compilation and kicks this one off in style with 'For Da Peeps.' It has a driving drum and bass combo with classic vocal samples lighting up the groove with real attitude. Too Heavy Crew live up to their name with the raw and edgy tech house of 'Gimmie,' and Fenky's 'Raymond' sinks
into a deep, well-swung groove that's warmed through with neon chords.
Copasetic is another returning artist whose brilliant '2 Step' builds the pressure with kinetic drum programming and chattery vocals. There is a real force in 'Properly' by Diego Lima and another timeless vocal sample that really stands the track out. Jay Roman offers the excellently punchy house of 'Shake Baby' whilst Phoenix Jagger's 'Run Away' is a sax-laced house tune with soul and party spirit. Rob Stillekens closes down with a stripped-back basement sound, and seductive vocal on the fantastic 'Try To Understand.'

‘Don’t Forget To Go Home’ is an explosive collection of high-impact house sounds from the ever-excellent House Keepers Records.
