This song was first released in 1931 by Ozzie Nelson and his Orchestra, with vocal by Nelson. After that it has had many versions including the popular version by The Mamas & The Papas in 1968. It has also been made into a video in the version by The Beautiful South. 
I always loved this song and I always wanted to sing a rendition of this song, so here it is. I want to thank Amul Lokanathan and Priyaj for helping me with the recording.

I always wanted to sing this song as it has been one of my favourite songs of all time from the movie Wizard of Oz that was released in 1939. Somewhere over the rainbow was originally sung by Judy Garland in this movie, and I always wanted to do a rendition.  It is a song of hope and resilience. I hope you enjoy my rendition of the same.

This is a Bengali song, written by Rabindranath Tagore, a polymath from Bengal. He was also the first Indian to get a Nobel Prize for his work Geetanjali. I have always loved his prose, poetry and songs. This is just one of the many songs that has captured my heart. The meaning of the song title, Gaaner O paarein, is 'You are standing on the other side of the song'. I hope you all enjoy my version of this lovely song.
