Mekong is a energetic tribalistic heater that is bossy from the start. Subtle driven stabs create a melody suitable for any dance floor. Our very own Noraj Cue brings a remix that is compelling, seductive, yet still raw at the same time. The right balance of build and progression keeps your head and body in motion. Seasoned with sounds from the original in combination with some timed randomness will maintain a steady development throughout. We always love Jaron's touch. 

Futaleufu, a Mapudungun word meaning Big River,' starts with a driving kick that channels into a dark, rolling bassline. Elements of techno, and tribal percussion paves the way to this stream of mysteriousness and hypnotic spirit. This is what we've been waiting for. Give in. 

And to top of the ep, Britta's remix is a deep fusion of techno and grindy house with a sprinkle of acid. Her intricate layers of drum elements play perfectly off each other to provide an elefante' und elegante taste of minimal tech, that signature sound you and I so dearly love to hear from this Katerblau resident. Next up on Exotic Refreshment we welcome estimua, a Germany-based producer. The title track "Morning Sun" gives people the impression of waking up early in the morning after a good and fulfilling sleep, somewhere in India. It's spring time, the sun is rising, you can hear birds chirping outside everywhere. Although this is the general atmosphere, the lush and atmospheric sitar, the chopped vocals, marble sounds and a subtle touch of tabla are adding a rather darker and hypnotic vibe to the track. 

"Flug der Manukoden" has been created for [kɔlatəˈʁaːl] (Kollateral) playground (https://soundcloud.com/kol-la-te-ral), where they chose a new theme every two months. In that period of time, every artist can contribute whatever they want to that theme. Trying something new and different is always welcomed and greatly appreciated. The idea behind the theme of "Flug der Manukoden" was pointing out that time when you turn on the TV with family or friends to relax and watch something entertaining, escaping reality. In estimua's case it turned out to be a Sci-Fi related production including dark desert vibes and sounds that give you the feeling of a suddenly broken TV signal and alien spaceships appearing in the sky.

Among the two beautiful original tracks entitled "Morning Sun" and "Flug der Manukoden", you will find here also four remixes from Nyvs (Sol Selectas, Underyourskin, Dream Culture, Magician On Duty), Ephlum (Bercana Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Shango, Lump Records), Nährwerk (Underyourskin Records, Amselcom, down.) and Sydka (MONADA, LOKD, Kamai Music).

'For the 23rd EP on Heimlich Musik, Franz Matthews collaborates with label veteran Johannes Klingebiel and Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Semodi, delivering two original mixes accompanied with remixes by Random Atlas and Balam. "Signs" is the result of a spontaneous collaboration between Franz Matthews and Johannes Klingebiel which started after a few drinks and builds on instrumental recordings. A powerful bassline and melancholic pads are used to reflect the message of the vocals to welcome the unexpected signs of life in a positive way. Evolving from a long-lasting friendship with Semodi, "Law of Attraction" is an enchanting arrangement carried by a subtle guitar and vocals about rewiring your own behavioral patterns for a more fulfilling existence. Chilean duo Random Atlas pick up the bassline and main theme of "Signs" in their remix while their powerful signature disco sound is magnified by the use of additional drum elements, analog synth lines, and electric guitars. Balam recreates "Law of Attraction" as an ecstatic club track based on hypnotic drums while keeping the spirit of the original, rounding up the EP as a whole.'

HMWL Premiere: Harry Charles - Unto Thee (Original Mix)

As we celebrate our fifth anniversary of Happy Camper Records, we are sharpening our lens on the future of the label. Our aim with each release is to transpire a dance floor journey that can take the listener on a memorable trip. Our 1st EP of 2023 of our dear friend Dm Mx, one half to the vibrant Mexican ‘Soul Brothers’ duo, is nothing short of that. 

The ‘Nature’ EP is a winner we have been sitting on for years & gets us ready for jungle mode. 
Nature travels deep, and hypnotises a bossy groove that gives the world a glimpse of his inspiration of the Yucatan Peninsula which has obviously influenced his studio work. Teaming up with his Soul Brother better half, it would only make sense the boys teamed up to give us a chunky, straightforward remix that gives the original a housey brother.   

To expand the Nature EP a little closer to home, Happy Camper brainchild ‘unders’ teamed up with his talented neighbour Ape Chimba to give the original an unexpected vocal retouch. With Ape channeling a new language and unders warming up the original, both the vocal and dub remixes give you a special nugget as an element of surprise. 


‘Nature’ will be available across all digital download stores beginning of March 2023.
